“Good hotel in central Paris”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

We chose this hotel to stay for a week in Paris, seeing as it was central and the price was reasonable though on the upper end (relatively speaking, in Paris prices). Seeing the full prices, however, we can only recommend to not book this hotel unless it is at a 20-30% discount rate at least - it is simply not worth the full price (of 220 EUR per night).

The room was small-ish, and the bathroom was not too clean (some mould in the corners). Due to lack of space, there was no small table besides the tiny and low bedside tables, so self-made breakfast in the room was a bit of a struggle. There was also no mini fridge in the room, which is surprising for a hotel of this class (also since the space was there in the cupboard). The TV has quite a few French channels (obviously), a few English news channels, and a good percentage of the German TV channels. The beds are a bit on the hard side; the area, being behind a church, is really quiet at night.

The service is generally friendly and forthcoming, but the room service is lacking: the room comes with two bottles of water, which are not refilled (even though those bottles are 0.30 EUR each in a supermarket!). The toiletries are also not refilled regularly, like in most other hotels I have been to.

Overall, we will keep this hotel in good memory and would not mind too much coming back; however, due to the price of the hotel compared to the shortcomings in the room service, I can only rate it a 3/5.

We stayed in this hotel in mid July and had 2 rooms next to each other. While the rooms were a fair size by European standards, they were quite dark as they both were on the ground floor and opened onto an internal courtyard. Our room was immediately opposite the front entrance so if you opened the curtains to let some light in then everyone who walked into the hotel could look straight into our room. The bathroom was adequate and there was a separate W.C. When we arrived we immediately noticed the holes in the wall of the W.C room where presumably the toilet roll holder had come off. As well as this there was no toilet paper supplied and a hall lamp was not working as it needed a new bulb. The rooms were quiet and clean and the hotel staff were pleasant. The hotel was a close walk to Luxembourg Gardens, the Metro and many great cafes, restaurants and shops. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as there was so much choice at the cafes nearby.

We visited Hotel Relais Saint Sulpice for one night back in April 2012.

Our room was a good-sized double, overlooking a beautiful courtyard. The decor was bright and cheerful, with nice soft furnishings and a lovely and clean on-suite. I seem to remember there being an average choice of global tv channels and a walnut writing desk in our room (nice touch).

The breakfast buffet was good value for money and well-stocked with a range of cereals, croissants and juices, tea and coffee.

I found the staff to be very helpful, who were also able to interject in English when my French failed. They also allowed us to leave our luggage in a secure cupboard after we'd checked out as we had a few hours of sightseeing before our flight home. This was much appreciated.

We will definitely visit again.

This hotel was easy to check into, in a great location, and very nice inside. It was small and cozy but that's what Paris is all about. We had a lot of room to walk around in our room, and a separate washroom and w/c. When we arrived, they held our bags while we went to explore the city! Then we returned to check in with no problem, and the hallway is nice and carpeted. I would say the housekeeping was top notch as when we returned at the end of the day the room was very clean. We faced the courtyard and it was very quiet. We were at a different hotel first and this one was much quieter but still so close to the bars and restaurants to go out at night. Also, a great welcome, as you pick up your key each time you arrive. Close to the St Michael metro and le comptoir restaurant! Awesome!

Room Tip: face the courtyard for a quiet visit, and ask for two twins pushed together!

I know it's been some time since I stayed here, but I can't let that oversight continue. This hotel is charming, well-appointed, and the staff was extremely helpful. I had a quiet comfortable stay and was still near everything while being on the left bank. I had a general contractor issue back in the US while I was in Paris, and the staff helped me considerably in getting some urgent communications taken care of. I would definitely stay here again. The room was spacious for the two of us. We didn't encounter any problems while staying here. I generally unpack my bags and didn't have any space issues (of course, I pack fairly light and am used to European accomodations). We were in Paris during the spring (late May/early June) and had a wonderful time and generally good weather despite a little rain while traveling for a day trip to Normandy.

Walk out into Paris - location is excellent, and fairly quiet.
Room 20 on second floor was adequately sized, with separate wc and separate bath/whb, and being in the courtyard was very quiet overnight.
Staff were mostly very helpful and friendly, and there is a relaxed ambience. There is a lift to all floors, and two staircases (albeit they both appear to `escape` into the hotel lobby which is used for reception as well as a small lounge/bar - not an arrangement allowed in the UK)
Decor and furnishing is on the traditional/quirky side, but comfortable.
Breakfast may look expensive at 13 euros (plus tax by the way), but wait till you see the cafe prices nearby! The breakfast room is in the basement under the courtyard skylight and food was fine. No dinner, but plenty options nearby.
Some quibbles - -room layout was frankly awkward, with three doors together, making use of wardrobe problematic. Electric lighting in the bedroom was inadequate.
If you can get a decent price here, its a great location and comfortable stop. If you want sophisticated or recently refurbished, there are several better alternatives in the vicinity.
My wife and I travelled with friends (all over 55`s) and stayed 4 nights. Most agreed that they would return in future due to location, friendly staff and comfortable stay.
(PS There seems to be some misposted photos recently - be sure you are looking at the right hotel - the one at the rear of St Sulpice church.)

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are quiet, but you don`t get a lot of sky view from the windows due to surrounding b...

As a Malaysian-Singaporean not really knowledgeable about Paris, I adore the Hotel Relais Saint Sulpice. The room are small but very tidy and clean, feels like a nest. The service is great with Mirko and Emmanuel always here to help. And the food…most important thing after shopping for Asian. Breakfast buffet is just perfect with all kind of cereals fruits and eggs…and cheeses…. even I am not on cheese. The choice of restaurant and bars nearby is fantastic, all walking distance. I have tried more wines since at stay at Relais Saint Sulpice that ever before. About Shopping…my favourite sport: Le Bon Marche, the best Department Store in the World is 10 minutes’ walk and all hip and trendy brands are around…a paradise.
Not to forget Le Jardin du Luxembourg a 3 minutes’ walk to the most romantic garden in Paris. Enjoy Paris at its best!
