“Good for a quick stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2012

We stayed at this hotel all of 1 might while spending the weekend in Paris. Advantages its on one of the major tube lines and is very close to the metro, got little shops around, and lots of restaurants, staff very friendly, hotel was clean, bed linen was clean, could hear the metro at times but otherwise quiet. We got what we paid for basically, I would recommend for a weekend stop.
Disadvantages - they will not hold your bags without a small fee after you check out, and this is upto a certain time depending on when the receptionists shift is changing. No free wifi.

I cannot recommend this hotel at all. The location is excellent but that is all. The breakfast was terrible. The phone in the room did not work and I asked for an extra blanket which arrived 24 hours later. They changed our room and there was no shower curtain - so the whole bathroom was wet. There were no glasses, no extra pillows (just the lumpy ones on the bed!) or blankets & the duvet smelled like dog. The workman were painting and hammering all day outside the rooms and the floor outside our door had plastic sheeting on it.
We had a processing problem with the credit card which was very stressful at the time, and the front office manager was most difficult and unco-operative.
There are many hotels in this area to choose from, just don't choose this one.

This is a budget hotel in a good location. The rooms are basic but quiet and clean and we had no complaints! Comfy bed and a hot shower! We certainly did not have the experience expressed in other reviews. Breakfast? Why would you eat in a hotel? You are in Paris! Get a crepe in one of the many places in the same street as the hotel (turn left when you leave the hotel and there they are!) or grab something from a boulangerie. I would stay there again, it is a great base for exploring Paris.

Really old and smelly. The service is very inefficient, the rooms are poor and not clean.
Breakfast is very expensive and low quality.
The day I left the hotel I asked to leave my luggage there just for 3 hours and I had to pay 2 euros!

The Staff at reception is really arrogant.

Hotel Renoir is disgusting. It is old, smelly, dirty, poor light and has horrible service!

Do not have breakfast because it is not included in the price per night. They charge you 10 euros each for a glass of juice a 2 frozen croissant.

Just avoid it!!!

poor service, very expensive breakfast, well best part of £40 for two mediocre stale croissants and battery acid coffee.

Luggage left on return day for a few hours, charge 2euro a case. Never again. Look elsewhere folks

First of all, I wish to say that Paris is an incredible city and Montparnasse quite a lovely area. However, my girlfriend and I booked this hotel through Eurostar under the assumption that it would be at very least a respectable place. Alas, we received quite a shock. The room was tiny and the walls paper thin. You could hear people coughing in the room next door.

The maids walked in 2 mornings in a row without knocking before we realised that the only way to keep them out was to bolt the door.

But definitely the worst experience of all was the manager of the hotel. On the first day he gave another key to our room to another couple because he forgot to book us into the room we were staying in. This meant that when we returned to the hotel room from a beautiful walk and luxurious meal, we found several other people standing confused in our room. When I approached the manager, he didnt apologise and simply called it an error. Furthermore, on the final day he left the reception unattended for 30 minutes when we were supposed to check out which meant we had to wait for him. He was then both arrogant and rude on return.

Truly terrible hotel. Fortunately the area is lovely and Paris is a wonderful city. But avoid this hotel at all costs. If i could report this hotel to any higher authority, I certainly would.
