“Wonderful hotel ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

My first time in this hotel, I've been in Paris so many times, and I've never seen a boutique 'charm hotel' so beautiful very nice, we were in a classic room, 5minutes walking from Arc the triumph ..Julian and Marco were very helpful at reception ..the room was nice cleaned, I've seen other comments but if I've understood it, the hotel used to be best western .. Hope to back .. In this hotel again

This is a poor hotel and wrongly graded 4*. We informed the hotel that we had a child with us and were given an unacceptably small room, we were told that our room was not inclusive of breakfast when in fact we had paid for. No facilities beware boutique means tiny. Bar doubles as breakfast room. Breakfast is exceptionally basic and does not reflect the €160 euros the hotel normally charges as being good value Room is clean - don't use the toiletries, the shampoo got into my eye and caused a lot of discomfort - when I checked the label I found they contained ammonia. Not child friendly. No child high chairs made breakfast difficult. Basis hotel near the main sites charging an unrealistic premium.

Room Tip: There are none of a reasonable size

I had one of the best experience at this hotel, the staff is courteous, location is superb, 4 mins walk to Champs Elysees, restaurants close by. The price is also very reasonable. The quality of the hotel in terms of cleanliness was above my expectation. Julien in particular was very helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be same at this 4 star boutique hotel

Indeed, the location is the best you can get from the hotel.
To be honest it follows the style of other hotels located in this area. It is small and a bit old fasjoned. However, the service is ok (in fact I did not need much help from them), breakfast basic but acceptable. The hotel is nicely located - walking distance to Champs Elyssees. Of course, this is city center so some traffic must be accepted.
This would be good choice if the price wwas reduced by 50%...

I was traveling on a business trip to Paris and this hotel seemed to be in a good location, in the center of the city, next to the arc de triumph. Indeed the location was very good but for 180 euros per night including breakfast (for 1 person) I really expected much more. The room was funny small with a single bed at a corner and window looking at a wall 2 meters away, and a tv with poor signal. The room was clean though and the bathroom also. The breakfast was ok, not something special but again definitely not worth the extra 18 euros per night. So, in fact only the location worth the money since you can walk and find yourself both in Eiffel Tower and arc de triumph in 10 minutes. So, to sum up, don't have too many expectations for this hotel even if you pay much.

Really nice hotel -clean, quiet and in a good location. It's reasonably priced as well taking Paris prices into consideration. I've stayed here on more than one occasion and will definitely return when I'm in Paris next time.

where do i start, im sure the staff were awaiting this review from me, my stay here was disastrous. it was undoubtedly the worst hotel staff experience i have EVER had. lets start with the hotel itself objectively, yes its quite nice, the superior rooms are not huge but are adequate, apparently the classics are tiny, so you choose. the room was clean and i found the daily maid service to be very good. the location of the hotel is great and the interiors are modern and kind of funky, i remember this hotel when it was a best western maybe 5 years ago.

now to the staff issues: on day 1 i arrived in my room, the fridge did not work and the light in the bathroom was gone, no big deal, i mentioned it to the lady at reception (lets call her lady 1) to see if they could be fixed as i left the hotel that day. from this moment on she seemed to have some kind of irrational vendetta against me. as the next 2 days went on she became ruder and any request was met with an arrogant and aggressive manner. she was certainly not shy in letting me know how she felt about me. at one point when i asked her a question, her response was that she had only been working in the hotel 1 day and could not help me. i extended my stay in paris for another night and booked the hotel again on trivago, it did not at the time say on the trivago site if it was a classic or superior room (which it normally does), i just booked it, when the email came through afterwards it did say it was a classic (i had been staying in a superior) on my next departure from the hotel sure enough, i was stopped on exit, again, and this time aggressively confronted by lady 1 along with her colleague lady 2 who clearly had been tipped off as to how 'demanding' i had been to ask for a light and a working fridge on day 1...anyway they both had a good go at me and said that the booking had to be changed there and then or a sur charge would be imposed. their tone was ignorant and dismissive. as it was a sunday and after three days of 'attitude' and sheer exhaustion from this nonsense i said i would sort the booking in the morning; no! i was told frantically, this would not do! the hotel would not allow this to happen!, lady 2 said. they behaved liked police or something. and so instead of heading out for the day i suspended my plans for paris and spent the next hour in the hotel bedroom calling the booking provider who graciously organised for the booking to be cancelled and i re booked a superior. i have a foreign phone so it was at my expense not to mention my time to reorganise all of this, the attitude from both of the women was appalling. after the booking was ammended and i was trying to pass the recption desk without assault, again, i was called over, saying i had to pay for a toblerone chocolate bar from the mini bar immediately, it was four euros! i then went back to the room, retrieved the toblerone bar and brought it to the reception, lady 1 said that now that she could see i had not eaten the bar i was to go back up to the room to put back the chocolate bar back! so this was again, another trip to the room for me; at this point i refused, i said i had brought down the chocolate bar so to avoid more confusion ( i don't speak french) and confrontation from them. she then erupted with a personal attack on me (there were other people in the lobby by the way) she went on to give me a tirade of abuse stating that "i was NEVER happy with anything in the hotel from the day i checked in..." and on and on. she was loud and aggressive with me, totally unprofessional and uncalled for. it appears she felt it was fine to treat me so rudely for my whole stay on the basis that i asked for a light and fridge to be checked on day 1. for the record, all the time i was in the hotel the mini fridge did not work properly, to which i got indifferent shrugs from reception when i mentioned it. double standards? nothing was said, compensated or offered to me, instead i was harassed over a chocolate bar i did not eat and for booking the incorrect room category. i explained to them at the time before i went to all the hassle of spending an hour changing the booking that i would be paying less to them for the superior than i had for the classic online as the rates had changed online at that stage, but her response was that she did not care if it cost less it was the principle!
incidentally, there was a lot of banging going on above and beside our room early in the mornings, im not sure if it was maintenance or housekeeping but either way the hotel is very badly soundproofed (as other reviews mention) and they should take care not to make so much noise in the morning times, particularly at weekends. my query about this noise to reception, as it woke us early on two weekend mornings, was met with the usual disinterested shrugs.
needless to say we checked out the next day, we had decided to stay two more days in paris but went to the hassle of packing our backs, changing location and unpacking again in order to avoid the horrible attitude of the staff here and to avoid being harassed over ridiculous things as lady 1 had decided to have some kind of vendetta against me every time i passed the reception desk. i have never come across someone with the manner of lady 1 and 2. i cannot understand how lady 1 works in the service industry. i hope that the owner of this hotel sees this review as i would like to inform them properly of what went on as I'm sure this lady will have her own contorted story of events. as other reviewers say the staff are NOT good. i cant imagine the best western brand would have allowed staff to behave like this. an exception to the rude staff i encountered was a very helpful man called francis who assisted me but other than that my experience with these women was awful. if you are looking for a 'charming' time in paris, do not go here where you will be treated with distain if you ask for something to be fixed, you will be treated not as a customer but an annoyance if you have any questions or god forbid, issues. incidentally i looked into the hotel across the street, its called the bassano and it looked lovely, the staff even smiled at me!

Room Tip: if you want service don't stay here
