Just back from villa eugenie paris..took my fiance away for a couple days and to be honest the hotel was nowr near 4 star.2 people can just about fit in the room we were given..let alone stay comfortably and sleep.the smallest room i hv ever seen in a hotel.no kettle or any type if refreshment facility unless u want to pay extortion for the two cans of beer in the ''mini bar'' (mini fridge) .clean enough...didnt spoil our stay cos we wr goin out and about anyway...about 1km from the metro.

This hotel is definitely not a 4 star, with broken tiles in the bathroom and very old vintage design. Its location next to the train station meant that the noisy trains would be your ambiance noise throughout your stay.
What it did lack in deco it made up with the ultra friendly and helpful receptionist!

My other half booked this hotel. After reading some of the negative reviews I was a little apprehensive, but this turned out to be totally unnecessary. The location was great - we could get to all of the major sights in around 20 minutes. We didn't experience any of the noise problems that were mentioned in other reviews - our room was very quiet. The room was clean, comfortable, and the decor was perfect. We especially loved the elevator! All of the staff were very friendly. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

OK this is Paris. Hotel rooms are expensive and tiny by Australian/US standards. I booked this hotel as a "secret hotel" as I wanted to stay somewhere different from my usual haunts in the 7th and 14th. I like the 17th arrondissement, having lived there for a month more than a decade ago. It is the Paris of real people, rather than tourists. Villa Eugenie was a definite bargain as a secret hotel and still very good value for its regular rates. True the furnishings are a bit tired, but the room was clean, the bed king-size (2 singles together as you need to be able to actually get the bed into the room!) and the bathroom larger than in many a Parisian apartment. As well as wifi (free) there were some English speaking TV channels. The desk clerks were helpful and spoke English. The first room we were given was on the first floor and quite noisy. There was no problem when we asked to change and we received a nice corner room on the 4th floor. I can only suspect that those who have left poor reviews haven't travelled much in Europe and have different expectations. For us, this fitted the bill very nicely indeed.

Room Tip: higher rooms are quieter.

My partner & I stayed here for four nights. I can only describe the hotel as shabby-chic, but not on purpose! The furniture in our room was dated and very worn. Our room was also very cramped, not much space to move about. We paid extra to ensure we got a double. When we got into bed on the first night, we realised it was two single beds pushed together. During the night they kept pushing apart. Not impressed. The room and bathroom were clean but as I said very dated. The shower was good, very powerful. The only time we spoke to staff was at check in & check out. The hotel was paid for in advance but when we checked out we had to pay city tax. 1.80€ per person per day. I wouldn't recommend this hotel & won't be staying again.

The day we arrived to the hotel they told us that they have problems with the rooms, so they moved us to villa Alexandra for couple of days which was right next to the arc de triumph. It was a great location. We were supposed to stay there for a night but instead we stayed there for two cause we loved it. Both hotels have great breakfast probably my favorite part about it. I could just keep eating nonstop. The rooms are comfy, a little bit old but i guess makes Paris trip more Parisian. the staff are very nice, speak both french and English.
The worst part probably is the WiFi. They have to work on it. It took me so long to connect and when finally connected the internet killed me to load.

Overall very good price good location and good hotel would definitely come back, if the promise to fix their wifi

Room Tip: Rooms far from first floor have bad wifi

Stayed here with my partner for a romantic getaway to Paris. Was unsure on what to think due to the amount of poor reviews but overall happy with my experience!

Pros: Room was nice, cleaned daily and had everything you need.
The location was great only 10 minutes away from villiers the nearest metro station from which you could get to everywhere you could possibly want to in Paris.
Staff were friendly and had no trouble helping us with any issues we had.
Price was brilliant, we booked through eurostar and got an amazing deal for 4 nights.
If you aren't too picky about your hotel and just want somewhere to spend the night which is a clean and great location then it'd be perfect for you.

Cons: We were on the 4th floor as I had requested a high floor to keep away from the noise. However it was still incredibly noisy at all times of the day with traffic and the trains.

We didn't mind as we were always so tired after the days adventures so we fell fast asleep but if you are a light sleeper it may not be for you.
Views were not particularly great from the rooms (train tracks and building works)

Room Tip: Try a higher floor where there will be less noise, preferably on the side of the hotel which is a sm...
