“A weekend in Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

The hotel is in a quiet location but only a short walk from chic shopping, dining and the unmissable Louvre. Yet, just a few paces from all the hustle and bustle, you can easily discover your own quaint patisseries to while away a few precious moments over a coffee before you dive back in.

I was pleasantly surprised by the décor of Room 305. Light colours make the room feel airier and larger. Although it faces the street it was quiet during our stay.

The room is of ample size for two persons but I feel it would be crowded with an extra bed. Cleverly designed furniture maximises the available space and it is very pleasing to the eye.

I found the bed unbelievably comfortable.

The bathroom suite is small and has a tub with overhead shower (I prefer a separate shower unit). A very large person may not find it as comfortable from a space point of view but otherwise the bathroom furniture is nicely proportioned and I absolutely loved the Bvlgari soaps, shampoo and shower gel.

Room service breakfast costs €24 for a continental and €30 for an American. There are no in room coffee making facilities and a coffee will set you back €6 a cup or €7 if you’d like milk in it. To the right of the reception there is a thermos flask of coffee for you to help yourself to along with some citrus and orange health drinks. Penne carbonara is €20, a club sandwich €22 and a hamburger €16. A children’s menu (u12) is €19.
A 25cl can of beer is €8. 75cl of white wine €25.

Standing at reception a door on your left will take you to an alcove under the stairs where a shoe shine machine hides. To your right is a nice library where you can print your boarding pass – just click on ‘option / print boarding pass’. Between reception and the library some stairs will take you down to a small gym, pool (with counter current) and sauna.

The Vendome Spa by (Asian Villa) charge €75 for a 30 min Thai Aroma oil massage (1 hour for €125). One hour Manicure €70.

The hotel was very welcoming and we felt really comfortable and at home. They have that fantastic ability to anticipate a customers needs and they excel. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other travellers.

My grand daughter and I spent 4 days here in February. The staff quickly got to know us and sort of looked after us with walking directions, restaurant suggestions and reservations. It is a relatively small hotel and like many European hotels, the rooms are not large. There was a separate toilet and sink separate from the shower and sink and this was helpful. There is a small exercise room, pool and spa. The small lobby bar is friendly and they make a good mojito with fresh mint. The location is perfect. You can walk to the Tullieries, the Lovre, Place Vendome and the metro is only a few blocks away. The only down side is room service dinner. The food was not very good although the service was excellent. Don't order onion soup. Breakfast was much better.

For a surprise birthday present I took my wife to Paris. In the past I stayed here for business and I knew the hotel so I went back and I was so glad we did.

The rooms are large by Euro standards. The bathrooms are great with a shower and tub and separate toilet. The hotel is intimate and very well maintained. You can walk to the Opera, the Orsay, Louvre, Monet and may other museums as well as the left bank and Notre Dame. Shopping is close by and so is the park.

I am shooting for 1000 nights at Marriott and I have stayed at many. Sometimes the Renaissance staff is aloof and snooty but not here. The staff at this hotel was great very friendly, warm and caring.

The concierge David and his colleagues Marie Caldine, and Steven helped us a lot. Benedict, Pauline, Lyubov at the front desk could not have been nicer. I forget the lady in the restraunt but she remembered me from my last visit.

Stay here you will love it. It is my hotel of choice in Paris for may reasons.

Great weekend at this hotel.

Overall the accomodation was great, staff were amongst the most friendly I have encountered. Rooms were great, a little small, but probably typical for Paris.

The staff were amasing, nothing was too much trouble, from getting a coffee, to arranging a taxi.

Drinks in the bar were good, breakfast was great, afraid I can't comment on dinner as we didnt eat it.

We chose the Renaissance Paris Vendome as part of a Eurostar package and were delighted with our choice. The location was perfect , within easy walking distance of the Seine, La Louvre and the islands, in a small street between the Jardin Tuilleries and the very posh shopping street Rue St Honore. The location allowed us to really appreciate the grandeur of the city and its architecture, as it was easy to stroll out from at night. The staff were very pleasant - they had upgraded our rooms, and put us and our teenage daughters in two interconnecting room. They also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to help us celebrate my husband's birthday. This was particularly kind as we discovered the prices in the hotel bar were exorbitant! The swimming pool was set out very nicely and worth a visit after a tiring day on our feet! We particularly enjoyed a local Vietnamese restaurant called La Coin des Gourmets on the same street.

Room Tip: We had rooms 109 and 108 which were interconnected by a small private corridor and ideal for a fami...

My husband and I just returned from a weekend getaway and chose the Renaissance Vendome for our stay (my husband is a Platinum member and we used points). We loved the convenient location and we walked everywhere (10-15 min. to Louvre, 45 min to Eiffel Tower, 25 min. to Champs Elysee, etc.). The hotel itself is very nice, clean, and very intimate. Our room was tiny (king bed and a desk and not much room for anything else) and had a view of the interior courtyard. I was hoping for an upgrade since he's Platinum but since we checked in early, we were grateful for any room. The concierge staff was so helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants, tours, transportation, etc. This was our first trip to Paris and hope to return soon. We both agreed that we would stay at the Renaissance again!

We stayed at this hotel in October and enjoyed our stay at it so much that we switched a later October stay reservation from the Marriott Champs Elysees back to the Renaissance Paris Vendome.

Full disclosure - we used reward points for both stays, so i can't comment on whether the actual rate would have been justified by the stay and hotel.

It is a small hotel on a quiet street within walking distance to Tuileries Garden, Place Vendome, Louvre, and many areas. we walked almost everywhere. one of the reasons we changed our [rewards] reservation from the Marriott Champs Elyssee to this one is that this is on a quiet street and we didn't look forward to sitting right on the Champs (it is a larger hotel). The staff was exceptionally helpful, kind and attentive. No question was received or responded to as not important and they went out of their way to help. The breakfast, included in our room rate/reward, was extremely varied, fresh and varied. We enjoyed the intimate feel of the hotel, their welcome recognition each time we came in and out, and the small and lovely lap pool.

Our room on our first trip was wonderful - a large (not just by France standards) junior suite corner room with king bed - light at day, airy, nice sitting area, just fabulous. Though we enjoyed this room better, on our second visit, we were given a one bedroom queen suite with a separate small room with pull out sofa. the bedroom itself was smaller, but you had the separate side room with sofa to retire to and each had flat screens.

I will be going back this coming summer, again with rewards points, but look forward to the comfortable, cozy and graciousness of the staff. a bientot!
