“A Reasonable Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

We stayed here for a night at the start of our Intrepid trip, and found it to be a clean and reasonable place to stay. The rooms were quite large and there were several parks within walking distance. This is a good budget type place to stay.

Myself and a work colleague stayed here during Paris Fashion Week in March. We needed somewhere central, as we are photographers who had come to Paris to photograph fashion week. We knew that a best western hotel meant pretty basic living, which is what we got, so there were no big shocks there. The room was clean, but extremely cramped, considering it was meant for 3 people. There is no way 3 people could have slept in that room for a week. 2 was a squeeze. The single beds were not uncomfortable, but at the same time were not great. The bathroom however was fantastic. Instead of a bath or standard shower, it was a walk in wet-room arrangement, with a lovely tiled area and a huge showerhead which totally drenches you in seconds, which i thought was great. there was plenty of room for the toilet and sink as well, which is sometimes a problem in cheaper hotels. The huge problem for us with this hotel was the internet connection. Its SHOCKING. On their website they advertise the fact the have free wireless broadband. Well let me tell you, it goes slower than a dead mouse in a wheel, and at 3am each evening..THEY TURN IT OFF FOR AN HOUR. Why? Don't ask me. Even the manager could not explain why. This was a huge problem, as we needed to send our pictures out FAST, and at different time throughout the night! So our work was greatly affected by the false advertising of this hotel. Its a shame, as other than that, the staff were pleasant and we had no problems with the room. I would say that the area is rather suspect though, especially of an evening. Theres no way i would have walked out the door with my phone visible, let alone my camera. It was also very odd that we had to leave our key at the front desk every time we went out.

We picked this hotel because we have usually been extremely happy with BW properties... this one really let me down... I prepaid for 6 nights or we would have moved hotels on the 2nd day after getting paint all over us... They put signs up after I complained but I'm still waiting to hear from the hotel manager..rooms were small but Ok, no amenities although I was told there was kettle in room, still waiting for that as well...again just very disappointed... make sure you know this is not close to the tourist area, but if you buy the Paris pass and get the transit package it's not bad... my son and I walked a good deal of the time...

We changed 4 times the room till we found a Fair one.
Area is really bad. We were told that they had a ver near parking which was almost 25 minutes walk in that kind of area. FAR!!
Front desk people were kind. We had to leave the key at desk every time we went out!!!!! Incredible at these days!!

Paris is an expensive city, all European cities are. bearing this in mind this hotel actually represents good value if you pay £80 a night including breakfast, if we had paid the full rate I would have felt very unhappy.
Good points; good location, easy walk from Gare du Nord, Gare de L'est and Metro Bonne Nouvelle. Easy walk to Louvre, Notre Dame and Montmartre and is actually in Pigalle district, so lots to see/do and places to eat nearby.
The room was clean comfortable and modern, including flat screen TV ( no English channels but USB in) small fridge/ mini bar. The included breakfast was the best continental breakfast we have ever had with a broad choice buffet and good coffee.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Not so good points; thr room is very small approx 2.5 x 3.5 metres and the bathroom tiny. if you were a big person you might find it uncomfortable.
We would definitely stay there again.

Paris hotels are very expensive and if you're used to 4/5* places normally you will need to either pay some ridiculous prices or trade down a bit. We paid USD210 per night, not including breakfast, through one of the booking sites. In Bangkok that would get you a good room in a 5* hotel in a prime area, but Paris isn't Bangkok.

The room was small, two people and two suitcases pretty much filled it up. There was a mini bar with free soft drinks, tea and coffee. TV with only CNN in English. Air conditioning was installed, normally only found in 4*+ establishments, you will want it in August. Nice clean bathroom, including bath as well as shower.

Didn't try the breakfast, EUR12 in the hotel but around half that in nearby cafes or buy a EUR 1 croissant at the bakery on the corner.

There is a launderette, small supermarket, numerous bars and cafes in the street. Bon Nouvelle Metro is a short walk away, as is a fresh market where you can eat at half cafe prices. Lots of North and West Africans of questionable immigration status hanging around.

Taxi to the airport took nearly an hour to arrive and cost EUR50. 7.00-9.30am is the worst time.

Basically you get a shoe box to sleep/shower/leave your luggage in while you "do" Paris. Will stay there again.

PS Google "Paris gold ring scam" before you arrive, it was tried on us. Also beware of pickpockets.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room overlooking the court yard as the street can get a bit noisy.

Went with a group of students on a Paris gallery trip. Hotel accomodation is basic but acceptable, but many of us had personal items, perfumes and lose money stolen from our rooms, the hotel staff were in denial that this could happen but this happened staright after outr room had been cleaned.

Stay Away from this one. !!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Don't !!!!!!!!!!!!
