“Location and Price To Let You See Paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

The Hotel Henri IV is the perfect spot in the perfect city. Sure you have 80 or so narrow steps to navigate to get to the top floor, but where else can you see Paris and get a great deal? The square surrounding the hotel is lovely and the staff is great.

I've been in Paris in March 2012 with my wife and we stayed at Henri IV. It has been a perfect and awesome experience, the hotel staff are very helpful and polite and always welling to help you with tourist information. I really recommend this hotel for young couples and families. I am from Brazil and all the negotiation and booking were done by phone or emails. Very good place and cheep place to stay in Paris down town and you can walk away to many tourist places and have a good view of the Senna river and Eiffel tower.
Thank you Hotel Henri IV.

Room Tip: Rooms from 2nd or 3rd floor.

If this is your first b&b in Europe then you may get a bit of a shock - wobbly, winding wooden stairs speaking of an earlier age, old chipped breakfast tables - but: comfortable rooms and likeable and helpful staff who tolerate guests' broken French (and speak perfect English anyhow), lend them books to read or interpret postcards. This has become my favourite place to stay. First morning, threw open the window and here were the sounds of Paris, the children playing, the drill of nearby building works, traffic further off, someone whistling their friend - and a little white dog going from tree to tree in la place below, straight out of Tati's 'Mon Oncle.' Couldn't be improved upon. And such a bargain price.

Room Tip: I was lucky to have a first floor room but others had many stairs to climb. The hotel staff advise...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights from 21st May on our first visit to Paris. We had a room on the 1st floor for the first 3 nights then had to move for the last night, but we were expecting this as I had been told when I phoned to make the reservation. There were quite a few stairs to the first floor but this wasn't a problem. We were originally told we would be moved to the 2nd floor but for some reason that could not happen and we were on the 4th floor which was even more stairs, but the staff was good enough to move our luggage for us. Our first room was one of the fully renovated rooms and was small but comfortable with modern bathroom. The second room was not so renovated and not such a nice bathroom but as it was only for 1 night it didn't matter. (For the cost we probably wouldn't have complained anyway). There was some noise but the hotel is surrounded by restaurants so noise is unavoidable. In our second room the walls must be very thin as we were just talking and our next door neighbour banged on the wall! We found the breakfast to be basic (baguette, jam, tea/coffee) but quite adequate and very enjoyable particularly if you were able to get the table by the window. We found the staff to be helpful and we were able to leave our luggage there all day on our departure as we had a late flight. The location is probably the best feature of the hotel, very central and an easy walk. As it is not possible to make a reservation by email it requires an international phone call but the staff speak English and I did not find a problem at all. The reservations are confirmed by email. I would stay at Henry IV if I returned to Paris and have no hesitation in recommending.

Room Tip: If you are an older traveller (like us) try to reserve a room on the lower floors as the spiral stai...

This is not a 4-star hotel, but it is excellent for the price and location, location, location. Our room was small but clean, and the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Pretty quiet at night. My main complaint is the "breakfast" is just a piece of bread...don't count on that to get you through a day of sightseeing!

My girlfriend and I stayed on the Hotel Henri IV for 2 nights and we'll definitely come back here.
It's very quiet maybe because no taxis are allowed on the sorroundings of Place Dauphine. It's on the island so it's easy to reference to taxi drivers, specially because there's only a few who speaks english or spanish.

The breakfast was good and satisfying, it was ok by the price (breakfast are expensive near here, around 12 euros).

The personel were very friendly and helpful. They can give you any advice if you need to, just ask!

Room Tip: There is no elevator. You'll have to carry your luggage to your room by yourself so ask for a ro...
