“Fantastic Trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We were in Paris to celebrate my partners birthday and chose the Hilton both for it's location and as a HH gold member, we enjoy the additional benefits that this brings. I had read some of the reviews prior to making the booking and was a little concerned about some of the negative comments particularly in relation to the noise of the on going renovations. Before our arrival I contacted the hotel to ask if we could be allocated a room where the noise would be minimal, Morgan immediately responded to say that this would not be a problem. On arrival we were greeted personally by Morgan and taken to a fantastic junior suite - a huge room which was so comfortable, light and beautifully decorated - we had been upgraded in recognition of my partners birthday, a wonderful gesture. The hotel is splendid with many original features which have been complimented by the very extensive refurbishment which is almost complete. The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, the service in the main bar was exemplary, no waiting to be served, even at the most busy of times. Breakfast was good, lots of choice and easy to navigate.
The location of the hotel is super, close to shops, restaurants and many of the main Parisian attractions. I would recommend the hop on hop off bus as way of seeing the city. We went to the Moulin Rouge on Saturday evening, we were a little bit sceptical again as there had been mixed reviews on TA, it was a really great evening, good food, class acts - even if some were a little strange - we were both pleased we went.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, we will definitely be returning of that there is no doubt. Thanks to Morgan and the Hilton team for making our stay so special and memorable.

Our 35th anniversary visit to Europe was highlighted by our stay at the Hilton Paris Opera. Our room was beautiful, spacious, with a fabulous bathroom. After very long tiring days of sightseeing, it was delightful to return to such comfortable surroundings. A nice touch, as well, was the welcoming bottle of wine and chocolates. Being next to the St. Lazare train station was a plus as well....easy to get around.

Room Tip: still remodeling hotel, so some noise associated during the daytime on the 4th floor.

From before our stay the communication and follow up from Jacklin ar the front desk to Virginie at the concierge desk was great! Then when we arrived , upgraded to a bit bigger room and although the rooms are small like all Parisian hotel rooms they were perfectly fine and had all of the amenities necessary. The staff in the breakfast and lounge area were eager to help, always attentive and seemed genuinely happy to serve. A big shout out to Virginie at the concierge desk for all of her help from guiding us through the metro map to making dinner reservations at a wonderful and hip restaurant. The bell man even made sure we were situated comfortably when we were waiting for a ride at the back of the hotell
The fitness room had everything you could want a fitness room to have and the downstairs lobby bar was a magnificent room in the grand style of Paris.
We will hopefully have the chance to return to this lovely, wonderfully situated hotel and albeit there is a bit of construction it did not bother us in the least!

Room Tip: 468 was very quiet

I hate writing negative reviews, you will see that over 90% of my reviews on TripAdvisor are neutral or positive. But it this case I couldn’t find a reason to leave a good review as our experience at the Hilton Paris Opera was very disappointing. The negatives outweighed the positives and there are too many excellent hotels in Paris (both large chain and boutique) to merit spending your money here when you can get a better hotel at a much more reasonable cost.

I will start with the positive – this is a very good location for exploring Paris, right next to the Gare St. Lazare which has Metro and RER access. The lobby is beautiful and our two room suite was renovated with a spacious bedroom area with a desk and TV. The second room was small but had a couch, a chair, and another TV. The bathroom was in between the two rooms, with a separate toilette. The bathroom was lovely with a very large marbled shower with an overhead rain shower.

Now for the negatives:
Customer service is nice but superficial, very polite and friendly, but not actually ever doing anything.
- We needed to get tickets printed for an event, we emailed them to the concierge as instructed and when we went to pick them up they were printed by a printer that was running out of ink – the tickets were illegible. We asked for a business center so we could reprint them ourselves, but there was none and no offer of reprinting was offered. We ended up taking them to another hotel to have them reprinted. - Our room had 2 TVs, but only one remote – if you wanted to change the channel, the remote had to be shared between the two rooms, pretty inconvenient. We called about this but nothing was ever done.
- Our room was not made up until very late in the day, twice we had to call to have someone come and clean the room.

As a Hilton Gold member. breakfast was included otherwise it would have been a pricey 29 euros. There is plenty of staff, but management is lacking. No one seems to know what to do to help customers, replenish food, clean off tables, etc… Major breakfast items would run out and not be replenished for 20 or more minutes. There was only 1 coffee machine, it could be a 10 minute wait in the coffee line to get your drink. If breakfast is included in your rate – go, but if not – this is not worth the money when there are so many other excellent options nearby.

Finally, the hotel is still under renovations. They began at 7:15 on Monday morning right above our room and continued on through most of the day. There was sawing, hammering, sanding, painting, etc… We booked our stay using Hilton points and upon arrival we were told that we could pay to upgrade to a two room suite. Since were celebrating both a benchmark birthday and anniversary – we decided to pay for the upgrade. I understand the challenges of a hotel under renovations – it has to be done sometime, but advance notice about the renovation going on directly above our room very early in the morning would have been great. Had we known, we would not have paid for the upgrade and stuck with our original room. I understand now why the room was available and feel that Hilton tried to make money on this undesirable room without disclosing the issues. I did reach out to management about the issue, after much discussion they offered to change our room but with one day left and plans for the day we declined. The manager we spoke with responded that they would check our reservation and see what they could do for us – we received no follow up response.

There are other nitpicky things that were negatives, but overall I will say that the management doesn’t seem to care. I know that other reviewers have said differently – but that is our experience. As hard as I tried to love, even like, this hotel… I could not.

There are so many great hotels in Paris –mostly boutique, I would recommend spending time researching other options. For the money you would spend here – you could get a wonderful personalized experience and top notch accommodations, in a great neighborhood and at a much better value for your money.

Sorry Hilton – after a long awaited hotel in Paris, this hotel is a big miss for us.

Room Tip: Ask where renovations are happening before accepting your room.

This was our first trip to Paris and the hotel was set near all the prime historic and shopping areas. We were in a standard room so fairly small, but workable without issue. Read about noise and there was construction being done to refinish the outside, but we did not encounter any issues with noise. The bar area is very classy and the service top notch from the bar staff to the front desk, consierge, and door/bag management. Every question we had was handled quickly and accurately. We were able to get in and out of the hotel very easily from our days seeing the city and become good at using the subs to get

The location alone is worth the cost of the rooms at this hotel. It is convenient to the major shopping district of Paris and both grand magasins, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette. The hotel is surrounded by bistros, cafes, brasseries, sandwich shops, patisseries, etc. There is construction in front of the building but this caused little discomfort. An ideal part of Paris next to the Gare Saint-Lazare. It is also within walking distance of Place de la Concorde, la Madeleine and le Palais Garnier.

The staff is very good and professional. They are helpful and courteous. The doormen are nice and will assist you if needed. The cleaning staff is excellent. the rooms are immaculate, and the beds very comfortable. Our rooms were impeccable.

The breakfast in the Executive Lounge is good, abundant and varied. The coffee is good.

Overall an excellent hotel in a perfect area. We will be staying at this hotel again.

Excellent stay and experience. As Hilton diamond members we are upgraded to a large suite. Also received a complimentary bottle of French wine to enjoy for my wife's birthday. Hotel staff and Concierge Service was extremely helpful in making reservations for sightseeing excursions and plans throughout the week.
