I had seen such wonderful reviews about this place on this site, and when i walked into my room I was disappointed. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in the beginning of September 2005. For what we paid I expected more. However, you do not get much for your money in Paris. The rooms were nice - not amazing. Our room had a horrible smoke smell, and the only no smoking rooms are on the first floor and the windows dont open. The bathrooms were nice, and they actually had stations to watch on the TV. The beds were not great and the bedspreads were dingy and the carpet was dirty. The location is a 10 minute walk from the Louvre - and right near a few metro stations. The staff was nice, but not all of them spoke English well - be aware. I would probably try somewhere else next time, but it was a good hotel.

We just came back from Paris and were quite impressed with the Golden Tulip Le Pera. The hotel is comfortable, clean, with good location and reasonable prices. We stayed in a standard room, which although small was equipped with all amenities and a great bathroom. Overall, we had an amazing experience. The staff spoke English and was very helpful with providing information. However, I wouldn't give it 4 stars - it felt more like a 3 star hotel.

I stayed there just recently, end of March '05 in a deluxe suite.

The room is quite small for a deluxe suite (42 sqm, bathroom included). For a room separated in 3 areas (bathroom, bedroom & sitting area, that's quite small but maybe that's normal for Paris. But, the room is tastefully decorated.

Even though it was a street side room (busy small street), there was no noise at all.

Bathroom is nice, in marble with seperate shower and bath (altough quite a small bath, about 1.6m)

The service at the reception is just average just like the breakfast.

The price was very good for a hotel and room of that class (205-220 euros a night). You can get major discounts via booking websites rather than directly from the hotel website.

We stayed at Le Pera hotel round mid June[room 109] It is not a 4 star hotel for sure!I would stayed again but for a better price[the behind door price for a dbl room was round 252 EUR!!!] VERY CENTRALLY LOCATED

The room was small although the marble bathroom was superb [compared with the room itself] The staff was very friendly but what was happenning with the breakfast was unbelievable! What I mean is that we had to ask for forks, spoons, glasses cause there weren't any at the breakfast room plus we had to wait at least 15 minutes to be served![awful condition propably because of lack of morning staff...].The breakfast itself was good. The big advantage is the perfect location.3 min walk to Madeleine Metro station,5 min walk to Roissy bus for CDG airport[45 min till the airport]

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights at the end of March 2004.

Rooms & bathrooms (marble) are reasonably large by Paris standard. Although I booked to stay at a deluxe suite (about 42 sqm) and had confirmed again on the phone with Reservations 2 days prior to arrival, there was a mix-up on the first day and I had to make do with a smaller, but cheery superior deluxe room (about 28 sqm), with the front desk offering complimentary minibar to make-up for the mistake. (Subsequently, the front desk even managed to get me a rebate for the first night). Staff throughout the hotel are polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is decent, though not great.

Rooms are modern in decor. Mattress is firm. There are 2 TVs in the deluxe suite with a sitting area located on a elevated platform with a glass atrium with the sunlight streaming in - nice touch. If you don't want to be awaken by the light, you can always draw the curtains that separate the sitting area from the bedroom. The bathroom in the deluxe suite has a separate standing shower stall. Water pressure in the bath and shower are ok - but the water does not drain very well. The bathroom amenities are nothing to cry about.

Hotel is on a side street where there are many eating places. However, you can still get noise from impatient drivers as it is a one-way narrow road. Ask for a room at the back for peace & quiet. It is less than a 5 mins walk to the nearest Metro/RER station, Galeries Lafayette, Printemps so you can always hop back to the hotel for a short rest to deposit your shopping bags before scooting out again.

The thing I dislike most about the hotel is the fact that the wall partitions are very thin. You can hear your neighbours very clearly.

Otherwise, it is a pretty satisfactory stay for 200euros a night for the huge space that I get at that location. Tip : the hotel website has the best deals; forget about scouring the other internet sites for a better deal. Plus, it pays to call up the hotel reservations personally and try & negotiate a better rate, even after having made the booking through their website. It worked for me - just remember to quote your reservation number. Will stay here again if the price is right.
