We were so happy we chose this hotel for our first visit to Paris. The location could not have been better for us. We walked everywhere! When we needed to take the metro, the Odeon station was just down the street. The area is quite lively, with many boutiques, pharmacies, restaurants and bars. There was a definite "college" vibe to the neighborhood, with lots of students from local colleges hanging out at the cafes and strolling in the street, particularly at night. Be sure to look for the alley that runs behind the hotel -Cour du Commerce Saint Andre- it reminded me of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter books. It was easy to find a full meal or a bite to eat just steps away from the hotel. We contacted the hotel by email a few days before the trip and asked if they could arrange a shuttle from the airport. They did this in a prompt, friendly manner (using English). When we arrived at CDG airport, we had a number to call so our driver would meet us. He probably had to wait for us, since we were so confused by the airport. The van took us straight to the hotel for around 40 euros. Near the end of the week, the hotel arranged for a shuttle to pick us up and take us & some other guests back. The desk staff were also helpful in making restaurant reservations for us. We were given a wonderful room on the top floor with a view of Notre Dame cathedral. Who could ask for more? OK, being an American, I guess we could ask for more... in this case, more towels in the bathroom. We requested and received them when we asked. I believe this is a European thing? Small bars of soap and a shampoo/bath gel are provided, as is a shower cap and shoe buff. The bathtub was very deep and there were no "grab bars" as in American hotels, so someone with bad knees or the elderly would struggle getting in and out - at least in our room. That would be something to look into when you book. The bed was comfortable, sheets clean and pressed, blankets warm. The room was so warm we turned off the heat and left the window cracked. The breakfast was breads, sandwich meats & cheese, cereal, juice, yogurt, fruit cocktail. The coffee was good and strong. A nice woman working the dining area was quick to provide coffee when you sat down. My husband brought me coffee to our room twice and she helpfully prepared a small tray for him to carry. It was lovely! Lastly, there was free wi-fi, which we were able to use all week. Can't wait to go back!
