“Great Tourist Location & Attentive Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2008

The Marriott Champs-Elysees is wonderfully situated for first-time visitors to Paris or those who prefer a hotel located in the heart of Paris. It bills itself as the only hotel actually on the Champs-Elysees. It is a 5 minute walk SE from the Arc de Triomphe and convenient to the Metro transit stop (FDRoosevelt). The hotel entrance is attractively tucked into a vintage facade, which could be passed-by if not for the doorman, flags and discreet Marriott signage. Inside, the lobby and reception area are modern with an atrium which rises to the upper floors.
Our room faced out the rear of the building, onto a rather typical business street without a spectacular view. This may be desirable, however, as the street noise at the front of the building - along the Champs-Elysees - might be considerable. Our sleeping area, with king bed, was on a "loft" just a few steps up from the room entrance and desk area. The bathroom was modern and all furnishings were clean and functional. There was ample space to include a rollaway bed. Internet service is available for a daily fee.
The hotel staff was VERY attentive. Our requests for extra blankets were filled immediately. The front desk clerks and concierge staff were friendly, never overburdened and always willing to please. They provided numerous tips for our travels which enhanced our stay in Paris.
We only ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, which consisted of an ample hot and cold buffet, with fruits, fresh breads/pastries and eggs cooked-to-order from an omelette chef. It was a relaxing start to our day.
There are many fine dining options available nearby - and, of course, shopping options in every direction.
Considering the weakness of the US dollar during our stay, it's difficult to determine the "value" of this hotel relative to others in Paris. Americans will certainly experience sticker shock at check-out. However, the Marriott Champs-Elysees provided us a luxurious experience, traveling as a family, that we would not have been able to receive if we had stayed at a smaller boutique property or a lesser-rated hotel.
Keep in mind that we were not looking for a romantic, couples-only hotel.
We were very pleased with this hotel choice.

We stayed in the Champs-Elysees Suite for a birthday getaway. This was an incredible experience. The room had two balconies overlooking the Champs-Elysees. We probably hung out on the balcony for several hours taking in all the sites. From our bed was a perfect, pictureqsue, incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. It was like a movie. There really is nothing bad to say about this property as everything was perfect. The location could not be better. You can walk to most major sites and there are two metro stops within a 3 minute walk in either direction.

Very nice, spacious room. For some, this would be the perfect hotel. Because of its location on the Champs des Elysees, proximity to several sites of interest and in the midst of a shopping district, you are immediately surrounded by tourists the moment you step onto the street. The hotel in general is very nice, the staff friendly, and the amenities plentiful (and quite "Americanized").

We booked 2 rooms/4 people for 7 days. May 25th to June 1st. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is super nice and the service is second to none. If your looking for the true Paris feel I would not stay at this hotel. The area is overrun with tourists. I would recommend the "Latin Quarter". But if your looking to stay in an area rich in shopping and for people watching then this is your hotel. Lots of nice cafes. 15 minute walk to the eiffell tower etc. Its a great location for exploring Paris.

We ate breakfast every morning in the hotel. Great selection of food.

Your will enjoy the hotel however it is priced on the higher side.

It was our second stay here but we cheated a bit on this trip, since our six days in the Marriott was thanks to Marriott "points" and we did not have to pay the high room rate. Nonetheless, you cannot beat the location! Just a few steps from a Metro stop and dead center on the Champs Elysees, we walked or took the Metro everywhere. The rooms are a tad small but well maintained, and the staff extremely helpful, especially the concierge. It is a "classy" hotel and a quiet haven in the city.

My wife and I decided to take a two day holiday in Paris while staying in Amsterdam and we chose this hotel due to its location. It is listed as the only hotel actually located on the Champs Elysses. In fact, we found several.

The hotel was elegant in every respect and lived up to the Marriott line of superb service and quality accommodations. Unfortunately, as is often the case on vacation, we spent so little time in the hotel and or the room that it probably wasn't worth the expense.

We never even took advantage of any of the dining facilities in the hotel as the nearby sidewalk cafes were way too inviting to pass up in this delightful tourist city. The rooms came equipped with five pillows per bed and pillow top mattresses which were a wonderful touch. The bathrooms had both a shower and a bathtub (separate) which was also a nice touch but the water pressure left a lot to be desired.

All in all, no complaints but we probably wouldn't stay here again. Just too many nice hotels all in the same area and unless you're in Paris for some reason other than touristy, the hotel and the hotel room are both low on your list of things to do and see in Paris.

We used points to stay here, but the stay was excellent. As someone who travels a lot, I was not dissapointed with the hotel at all. The service was excellent, no stuffiness, and the concierge gave us many excellent recommendations to go and eat. Our favorite was the Pershing Hall, great food and hip atmosphere. The hotel is central to many major sites, very clean and nice rooms. I would also recommend the open air bus tours that start down the street at the bus stop. If you need anything stop at the MonoPrix a couple doors down.

Very Good, experience.
