“Paris when it sizzles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

Sounds like a good thing right? Not when you have to wait over an hour for your luggage in a 100 degree, un-airconditioned airport and ride into the city snuggled in some strangers armpit in a packed RER. When I reached Hotel Konfidentiel I was miserable! However, the amazing staff, lovely air-conditioned rooms, and fantastic location snapped me out of my funk and set me up for a fantastic 2 week stay in Paris. I decided, for this vacation, to just kind of "wing it" and had no real plans or itinerary. The staff was awesome, and came through with a ton of great suggestions and must-sees. I came to Paris with my boyfriend and the hotel was very romantic, but I thought the rooms were large enough to accommodate a family and the hotel would also be fun with a group of friends!

Hotel Konfidentiel is a little diamond in the centre of Paris. With their 6 rooms they can offer you all the needs and wishes you want. The staff is really friendly and the rooms are beautiful. You're in the centre of Paris. The breakfast had a good range of different delicacies. It's really worth the money. Next time I visit Paris I will certainly go back to Hotel Konfidentiel.

Room Tip: All 6 rooms have a different theme. Their all of good size and beautifu.

This is not just another faceless chain hotel. It is charming and warm. The amenities are great and the staff is extremely helpful! We had a chance to speak with the general manager while having breakfast (we loved the cave-esque dining room) and it was immediately obvious the care that went into designing the hotel and the dedication to ensuring that everyone enjoys their stay. The rooms did seem a bit small but from what I've heard from others is that they are large by Paris standards. Also, the location couldn't be better. It's tucked away on a little quiet street but in the heart of the city so you get the best of both worlds. I'd love to stay here again some day!

We only stayed here for one night and we wished we stayed here during our whole trip to Paris. This hotel is in a great location - just down the street from the Pont Neuf bridge. The cafes and restaurants in the area are fantastic - LOTS of shopping in the area.

The hotel has a unique concept. There are only 6 rooms, one for each floor. That means that you have total privacy and the only people getting off of the elevator on your floor is you! Our room was VERY spacious - for our last night in Paris we wanted something with a 'French flare' and his hotel didn't disappoint. The bathroom is very large with his and hers sinks. The air conditioner works great, but we also enjoyed having the windows open as they are very large and we got a nice breeze for a few hours.

The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They really do whatever it takes to ensure your comfort. Esteban is an EXCELLENT concierge who is always putting his guests needs first.

We had breakfast at the hotel. It's basic, but they offer to serve it to you in your room which is a nice touch.

We were extremely pleased with this hidden gem - our only disappointment was that we didn't spend more time here :) we 100% will be back.

Loved our stay at the Konfidentiel. We had the Marie Antoinette suite, it was lovely, large and comfortable. Appreciated the creativity with the AC set up (it's hidden by a framed picture- I'll add a photograph of this) and that it was quiet and powerful- because it was quite warm in Paris during our visit. The hotel itself is situated within walking distance of all the great places - the Louvre, the Notre Dame, and even a simple fifteen minute stroll to the Pompidou. We were also surrounded by great cafe's and nightlife- and the best part? couldn't hear any of it with the windows closed. We also had great service at every interaction- highly recommend this hotel!

Bottom Line (up front) - We had a wonderful seven day stay at the Hotel Konfidentiel Paris

Hotel - This six room boutique hotel has been completely rebuilt and remodeled. There is one room on each floor. The rooms are furnished beautifully. We were in the third floor room but we saw two of the other rooms during our stay. Each room was identically furnished. From the rooms to the restaurant to the front desk everything was immaculately clean and attractively decorated. The elevator worked fine and was always available.

Management - Catered to our every need. The hotel is family owned and managed. The manager, Esteban, is from the USA and speaks four languages. The Food and Beverage Manager, Nickolas, is from the Island of Mauritius and speaks eight languages. There was no communication problem here! No matter what tourist information we asked for, and we asked plenty, they either knew it or googled it for us in seconds. They called for reservations and arranged appointments when we needed help because we do not speak French. The other staff members were just as accommodating. It surprised me when Esteban told me that most of their clientele were people traveling on business, not tourists.

Location - The Konfidentiel is two blocks from the Louvre, two blocks from a metro station and just a short walk to Notre Dame. Night life is happening all around this hotel. We did not make a count, but I estimate within three blocks of the hotel there are more than thirty street cafes, restaurants, bakeries, pizza parlors, and sandwich shops. Something for every taste, but don't miss eating at the Konfidentiel's own restaurant!

Room - Spacious compared to most other European hotels we have stayed at. As mentioned previously, our room (and the other two we saw) was tastefully decorated and modern. The bathroom was completely tiled and the shower was one of the best we have seen in any hotel, comparable to what you would see in a five star hotel. The room was equipped with all of the amenities you expect in a first rate hotel. In Europe "air conditioning" has a different meaning than in the USA. But here each room has a state of the art whisper quiet individual AC with a hand operated remote control. It was so quiet I could not tell if it was on or off.

Noise - Open the windows at night and you know that you are in the heart the entertainment district. Close the windows and you won't hear a thing. The soundproofing is excellent. Our sleep was never disturbed by the street noises just below.

Hotel Restaurant - We ate several meals in the quaint and intimate restaurant located in the cellar, although they do serve outdoor in front of the hotel as well. Not only was the food delicious, but the wines that Nickolas selected at our request were excellent (and reasonably priced). We took note of the fact that most of the patrons of the restaurant were Parisians. We did not take the breakfast included option because we generally either skip this meal or eat very lightly. But the last day Esteban said he was going to cook us an "American breakfast" - it was a very special going away gift.

Thanks Esteban, Nickolas and all of the Staff for a great week.

Hotel Konfidential is probably the greatest service oriented hotel that I have ever stayed in; special thanks to Esteban... We arived in a rental car through all the confusion of Paris traffic and an exhausting trip leading to this point... Esteban came to our illegally parked car and immediately sorted out all our worries... He took all our luggage and politely showed us where to park, later he personally walked us the entire way to the subway and helped us buy tickets... All the personel at the hotel are spectacular and polite and try to help see that all the worries involed in the logistics of your stay are handled to completion... The hotel is small, with each of the six floors being a room of itself, but don't think because the hotel is small that it lacks in anything... Your room will be clean with a splendid and large beautiful bathroom with the shower having a large rain head and a head for personal care... The linens are high quality cotten with a soft matress and pillows... The room speaks an antique French motif in the decorating style... Breakfast will be served when you are ready for it (my wife and I came down for breakfast today at 12:30 and were greeted with a friendly smile and the best service... The breakfast included pastries and bread with jams, yogurt, fresh fruit ambrosia with orange juice and coffee that was of ample portion to carry us over till dinner... My family has traveled the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels, but this small jewl is the most unexpected delight in service that we have yet experienced...
