“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

I was in Paris with a friend. This time we were supposed to cut on our budget but enjoy ourselves at the same time. We found this hotel on Internet and everything seemed to be reasonable. The price we paid was fair for what we received. The only problem was that the room did not have a fridge. Otherwise, everything was clean and in order. The room was well-furnished and the bathroom was clean. The lady at the reception was really helpful and kind.

Sterotypical French reception - not very welcoming. However got over that. Our room was on the top floor, 3 flights of stairs, great window that opened up, good because was an unusually hot weekend. However lots of pigeons live in the area behind the hotel so you can hear them constantly cooing all day and night.

Very small room, however I am told this is normal in Paris. Bed was small but okay - pillows have seen better days. But it was clean - I was a bit worried about this reading other reviews. Bathroom small but clean, shower small but clean. TV but only showed French and maybe spanish or german but not sure. We were out most of the time sightseeing so it didn't matter much to us.

Great coffee shop accross the way. Only 300m to the metro station and about 15 mins into the centre. Very easy to use and trains come regulary, buses are easy to use too.

We booked through Wotif.com because this was

I spent 2 nights at the Hotel Mon Reve Amadeus. My room was nice, clean enough and bathroom was quite clean. The staff was very friendly (definitely friendlier & more helpful than many Parisians, in general). The hotel was very quiet. A big plus is that there's a laundromat just down the street. The hotel is fairly far from central Paris, which is a drawback; on the other hand, the neighborhood in which the hotel is located seems safe and calm.

Roof collapsed the last night we were there. Some of the staff were rude and arrogant. Location is decent and beds were ok. Never going there again

Unfortunately our stay was not as pleasant as expected. We were greeted everyday and evening with hostile and unhelpful staff that refused to even acknowledge us for the most part. They tried to charge us extra on different occasions as they believed that we were to naive to notice. The rooms were not cleaned properly, our room`s shower was blocked and bathroom door didn´t close. They failed to mention the price of breakfast in the morning as they misinformed us about it being complementary.

We stayed here for a short paris break while visiting London. French budget hotels are so much nicer than their English counterparts! Rooms were clean, nice bathrooms with full size tub. Front desk staff were not the most helpful, I'm not sure if it was because we were not fluent french speakers or what but when we asked about a mailbox close by we were told that they didn't know (we found one by chance just down the block?!) And we asked for extra pillows (and I think we used french incorrectly and must have pissed them off as we never did see those pillows). No elevator which is a drag with all your luggage but this is a common thing in older budget euro accomodations. We never ate the breakfast there but it was available. Clean room and decent bed. Very close to Metro, good location and lots of amenities nearby. Would stay there again!

Our room in this hotel (top floor, facing the street) was a bit shabby and tired looking, but the bed was clean, the shower hot, and the corridors quiet. The carpet was worn and faded and the painted walls looked in need of a spruce up, but we didn't mind as we didn't spend much time in our room. We didn't choose to have breakfast and, at 7.50 euro each per day, we're very glad we didn't as it looked very meagre and pre-packaged. We got fantastic coffees and little quiches/croissants at nearby patisseries instead for a fraction of the price.

There is a pizzeria and brasserie opposite which are both good value, and a mini Monop' supermarket a couple of doors away which is open until midnight. The metro is a couple of minutes walk away and there is a handy Velib' stop just next to it.

We took a walk from the hotel to the Eiffel Tower via rue de la Convention and then along the Seine (a wonderful walk past some fantastic food shops - several had queues of people lining up outside!) and, walking slowly and stopping frequently, this took us about an hour. Very pleasant.

With a bit of a paint-job and fresh carpets, this could be a great find, but at 60 euros a night we were happy with our choice to stay here.
