“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013 via mobile

Just back from a trip to Paris with my girlfriend.
We had great times at Ares.
The hotel is located in a quiet area, lot of good places to eat around, including a grocery store and a wine store.
The Eiffel tower is a ten minute walk and the metro is two blocks away.
Our room was lovely, clean and with a great decor. A big praise to the staff, always helpful.

“Not Bad just not as amazing as the reviews suggested.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Hotel Ares is without question in a good location. Central and quiet. Very close to the eiffel tower and a lot off nice restaurants close by.

The rooms were quite good. Very well decorated, with a balcony. Hotel reception is decorated very funky. However the room is simply not worth 350 euros a night. For that price it is too small, and it's an utter cheek to not include the very average breakfast. The staff were very helpful, but again 8 euros for mint tea when we pay 350 euros a night? Really? Well apparantly yes! Oh and already opened and used toiletries, and no replacement of the soaps. come on!

I really can't fault the staff there. But then again for that price that's what it should be like.

Sorry to say won't stay again, simpy what you get is not worth what you have to pay.

Just being honest :0)

Dear Lellewel i want to thank to share your experience with the all trip advisor community, this give me the possibility to rectify some little detail i had the pleasure to meet you when you ask for the tea and we prepared two teas so the price of the tea was 4 euro person and not 8 euro like you affirm in your review, and you doesn't seem surprised to hear the price it ,for the price of your room that is 21 sqm or 226 sqare feets ad that the priceyou have paid for your room is 237 euro and not 350 like is written in your review , i will be very pleasead if you will choose again to stay in our hotel and i will take personally care of you .

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We got to this hotel thru reviews at Tripadvisor and were disappointed. Why is this under the luxury hotels category? It's a small, new and modern hotel but not luxuroius in anyway. The room we got looks different than all the pictures we saw on line. Looking out the window we had a building in front of us , too close, so the curtain had to be closed at all times, very unlike the nice view shown in the pictures. There is only one person at the front desk at all times and sometimes we had difficulties communicating because of language problems. There is no concierge services and no help or assistance in planning or any kind of reservtions.Breakfast is not included in the price and is over priced (18Euro per person). There is a buffet with a small variety , htere is no fresh cheese or even fresh baguet (and this is France, after all), you can get a much cheaper breakfast at any Cafe around the corner. . The location is not in the center but there is a Metro very close which is a great benefit.

Dear Dr iris b i took some time before answering at your review , When you arrived you have been up graded and we specify you the complymentary up grade ,for the concierge we are a four star hotel so all the people can anwer at every question and we speak fluenty english, i think that your insatisfaction is due at the fact that you want a late check out at 6 pm when we say you our proposal, suddenly you begun to say that you were unhappy and you will go to write a bad review if we do not give for free , so i let to the readers the judgement about your disappointment of our hotel , i wanto to take the occasion to thank all the people that have past wonderful time with us and we continue to work hard to make a unforgetable time for the future guests.

“Perfect little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

I went for this hotel to take my partner to Paris for her birthday, picking a hotel in Paris is hard, but I picked a gem. The hotel is not in a primary tourist area, theres a few big hotels a 10 minute walk away, but this is in an upmarket appartment area, on a quiet back street so there is no road noise. A 10 minute walk will put you right under the eiffel tower! Taxi from Gard du nord was €20 with a couple of bags (paris taxis charge €1 extra per bag).

First impressions were very good, boutique style hotel, the receptionist was very nice, polite, and had good english, which is good, cos my french is dreadful!! The room was ready for us, lots of maps and info was there and she had us checked in quickly.

The room was small but very well done. It was wide enough for a king size bed and a bedside cabinet either side. At the end of the bed was the wardrobe, desk, and more room. A Bang and Olfsen TV showed that no expense was spared when it was fitted out. The en-suite was big enough for a small bath, but with a great shower, toilet and basin, expensive toilettries were there and it was very smart. TV had all the usual international channels plus BBC1, BBC2 and ITV4 for the English visitors. Overall small but very smart, and done to a very high quality, anyone thats been to paris knows rooms aren't that big anyway.

The receptionist was very helpful with restaurents for both nights of our stay, the first night a place just round the corner from the hotel, called suffen, and on the second a place called Wepler, which was near Moulin Rouge, that we were going to, both restaurents were excellent!

The morning saw a new receptionist, just as friendly, helpfull and great english, she booked our Moulin Rouge tickets for us very quickly.

Breakfast was offered at €18 per person for buffet style but we didn't use it as we were out the door early.

The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the metro station which line 6 takes you straight to the Arc de Triomphe

On checking out they kept our bags for us to pick up later.

Overall a fantasic hotel, possibily the best staff of any hotel I've ever stayed in, and if we go back, we'll be staying there again.

“Excellent Boutique Hotel- Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

I took my fiancé away for a surprise birthday trip and this was the perfect choice. The hotel was stylish and welcoming; the local vicinity represented everything that people go to Paris for- excellent food & drink, walking distance to great sites and friendly people
