We had heard terrible things about Paris hotels so this far exceeded our expectations. The room was not huge but it was perfectly adequate and decorated very prettily. The bathroom was small but well appointed. Everything was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of places to eat nearby for various budgets - even a McDonalds around the corner and an excellent supermarket 2 doors away where you heat your food in a microwave if you want. The breakfast was exorbitantly priced and we skipped it. Being opposite the Montparnasse Metro made it ideal for venturing forth each day. There was expensive internet access in the hotel but we found it impossible to access (hotel staff blamed the server) so we got our money back and used the cheap cafe down the road. Connection here was fast so still mystified by hotel problems. (Hint: ask them how to change the keyboard to English but you must use Modzilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer for it to function). If money not an issue we would have preferred to stay closer to the heart of Paris eg Marais or Ile St Louis but on our budget we were very happy.
