“Great Location Jet Privilege 150279662”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Was here for two days in June 2013 for my honeymoon. The hotel is a stone's throw away from the Gare du Nord Train station and turned out to be extremely convenient for us (we used the trains quite a lot). The rooms are quite small, especially for someone like me (over 6' tall) but I was told to expect that from all hotels in Paris.

Was here for a night. The hotel is just right opposite the Gare du Nord train station, very convenient for us as we will have traveling out from there the next day. There are numerous restaurants and cafes just around the corner. The check in was smooth and the staff was friendly. The room was small but clean. It's OK for one night stay. The breakfast was OK, nothing to complain about. The hotel has an elevator, which is a plus point for those who has heavy luggages. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Just back from a 5 day break in Paris. This hotel was chosen for it's close location to the Gare Du Nord as it is just across the street from the Station entrance. The area is busy with travellers and suffers somewhat from the large groups of males hanging around. However, we did not feel unsafe and it is not the hotel's fault. The hotel security is good and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful in advising how to get where you want to be and assisting with any excursions. One glaring problem (for Brits like us who cannot function without a cup of tea on waking!!) is the hotel website confirms there are tea and coffee making trays in the rooms. This was not the case and, when asked, the receptionist stated that the new owner had them all removed. However, when I pointed out that this was the main reason I booked the hotel and, in fact, the website was still showing this information, he quickly found me a kettle. Problem solved. Also, requests for more hangers and pillows were also handled quickly. The hotel is clearly undergoing some updating with some rooms already very nice. Ours was in the older part of the hotel and, although spotlessly clean and with a very comfortable bed, was tired and in need of some care and attention, especially the bathroom where the 'shower' was actually a bath mixer which did not encourage any long leisurely showers!! Overall, for convenience of travelling around Paris, this hotel is ideal. There are numerous restaurants nearby but are all much of a muchness and overcharge for the food. Travel a few roads down and you will find as good for a more reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the newly decorated rooms!!!

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Gare du Nord and wish we had stayed at a different place. We thought we were getting something more decent from a three star hotel. The room was tiny, just big enough to walk around the bed. The shower over a bath didn't have a curtain, which meant the water got everywhere in the bathroom. The small bed was not comfortable for two people. The breakfast was poor, with bread which didn't taste fresh. There were fruits, cheese, and a few other thing on the selection, but with tasteless croissant and baguette, it was just not right. I don't recommend this hotel.

Location a few metres from Gare du Nord make this easy to get to and travel to other parts of the city; as most wouldn't want to hang around this area for too long. Rooms a bit variable - mine smallish, dark and in need of decoration with only a shower room. Next door room at same price was a lot larger, lighter, newly painted and had full bathroom. All clean. Breakfast was OK - self service. Terrific little Carrefour just across the road means you can pick up water and provisions for days out. Looked a lot better than some of the other hotels on offer in the locality.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay in Paris and were very pleased we chose to stay at the Hotel du Nord. The location was perfect for us; near to the metro, excellent bars, eateries, shops, including brilliant bakeries. The hotel was situated near to the Canal Saint-Martin which was very picturesque. The room was very clean and perfectly adequate, Breakfast, if required was a good selection of croissants, fresh bread rolls, jams, lots of coffee and juice. The staff were friendly and attentive and the dog, Pluto gave the reception a friendly ambience. I wil return to this hotel if ever I am in Paris again which I hope I will be.

Room Tip: I am a very light sleeper, and asked for a room at the rear of the hotel. It was quiet. In the morn...

Chose this hotel again for its close proximity to the train Station (within 5 min) perfect location and some nice eateries around this area too which aren't as expensive due to the area, tried my snails in this area woohoo! Hotel is clean and tidy breakfast was fine and service delightful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
