People who have written rave reviews about the Comfort Inn must be either crazy or must have written their review under the influence! My wife and I checked into this so called 3 star hotel in early July and found the place to be appalling. Being right next to the door our room was more like being near a fish market from a third world country. I was wondering if there such a thing as law and order in Paris; the street was so noisy and unbearable through out day and night. If it was not the drunkard screaming on top of his voice, it was the garbage truck in operation as early as 5AM in the morning! Yes, Paris has lot of history and beautiful buildings, but the experience we had in combination with this hotel made me wonder if it is making another trip to the much hyped about city. The room itself compared with what probably the detainees got in Guantanamo Bay. It was like being in sauna, with Paris temperatures hovering around 90 deg. There was neither an air conditioner nor even a ceiling fan. The room had just one electrical outlet and one had to struggle to reach it to plug in the computer or any other gadget. The bathroom was a 4X4 cell where one could not bend to do anything without bumping into the wash basin or toilet seat. The stair cases were ill lit and stinking. The breakfast charged at 12 euros was really worth 2 euros. With all these, the charges we paid were substantial. My advise is avoid this hell hole at any cost.
