“Good three star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

This is not a fancy hotel, but it is reasonably priced, has great transportation access, and several restaurants nearby. The staff is very friendly and the room I had on the 6th floor was roomy and fastidiously clean, and quiet at night even with the window open.

Clean and comfortable hotel which provides a perfect base for visiting Paris. The rooms are a little small, but really with so much to do in Paris there's no need to be spend time in them. Fantastic transport links. The staff are incredibly charming and helpful.

This hotel is in a good area in Denfert-Rochereau.. A 1 min walk from the entrance to the catacombs.. Little pastry shops, 'brasseries' and dining places nearby. Right across RER train station and metro station, which easily connects you to any area of Paris, only about 10 metro stops to the eiffel tower. My wife and I booked this hotel for a weekend for about $103 Canadian a night.. Roughly 80 Euros per night for standard double room.. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a complimentary upgrade to deluxe double room, which was nice of them. Breakfast is a decent mix of croissants, pastries, jams, bread, butter, couple cups of coffee or tea and orange juice for 10 Euro.. Better breakfast could be had at Indiana cafe around the corner for same price roughly but it's not terrible. parking is 15 euro per night which is a little steep but car is secure in covered parking structure. Overall a good experience and good comfort for the money, but only if u can get such a deal.. Rates at the hotel were roughly 140/150 euro a night for the room we had. So book ahead of time and if you can snag a deal it's worth it..

Direct access from both airports CDG & Orly, RER and two metro lines right nearby with hotel, good breakfast, friendly personnel, comfortable (although kind of old) room (we had double), many cafe and restaurants around (it's Latin quarter!).

Nice hotel in a well located area. Close to public transport and some great cafe's and bar's.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a decent size and well appointed.
We did not have the breakfast as there were many other options outside. We would not hesitate staying here again.

I would return to this hotel. The staff was very nice. I didn't get wifi in the room, but the location and the price were worth the visit. I wouldn't get the breakfast, as there are nice little cafes very close.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 young children) just got back from Paris, having stayed for a week in the 14th district. We stayed at the Hotel du Midi, in Room 30, just across the street from the Denfert-Rochereau RER station. We found the room to be fairly spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We liked that the bathroom was clean and large, with a huge tub (although our room did not have a jacuzzi tub). Based on other reviews and our own experience, it appears that the hotel is doing some renovations here and there, but this didn't interfere with our stay. The hotel offered breakfast for 10 euros per day (no advance reservations required) but we opted for the local market food instead.

Highlights:
- Ability to book online on their website effortlessly - prices were as advertised, consistent on website and on site
- The friendly staff spoke english and french, location, price (listed price around $200 for our 2-double bed-room)
- Good sized double beds for 1 adult, 1 child per bed
- Comfy beds and pillows, firm mattresses
- That it wasn't a big chain hotel with that generic chain hotel feel
- Great room safe
- New, modern elevator
- Taking the RER B train directly from Charles de Gaulle airport (Terminal 2F) to Denfert-Rochereau in about 40 minutes for about $40.
- Having both the RER and Metro stations within walking distance
- Being minutes away from places to eat
- Being minutes away from the major sites in Paris by transit
- Rue Daguerre, the local market street, was just a few minutes away and was/is awesome

Our room did overlook the RER train station and a restaurant next to the train station called Oz, not to mention a few restaurants on the same side of the street, so of course there was some street noise. On the Friday/Saturday especially, there were sounds of partygoers which even the thick windows didn't block out entirely. It wasn't a problem for me (heavy sleeper) but for lighter sleepers (hubby) this is a bit of a problem.

Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

Room Tip: We looked at the hotel floor layout on the back of our room door, and saw that there were some small...
