We stayed here for one night in September 2008. We booked it through booking.com and it was the same rate as the hotel website.

Room:
We booked the cheapest double room (Classic) so it's no surprise that the room is small. It measures about 10' x 10' with not much space to move around. The bathroom is big, compared to the rest of the room. It has a shower stall, no bath tub. Our double bed is really just a full-size bed, but it was okay for just 1 night. There is an in-room safe.

I was concerned about street noise, but we were pleased to find our room facing an inner courtyard, so it was very quiet. Like other 3+ Paris hotels we've stayed at, the walls are thin.

Breakfast:
Breakfast is €8 per person, which I find a bargain compared to other Paris hotels. It is not a buffet breakfast, but we got a large bread basket, coffee, and 2 choices of cereal. There are several kinds of jam and cheese.

Location:
A great location for our purpose. It is located between Gare Montparnasse (SNCF station) and Montparnasse-Bienvenue (metro line 4); and just a few minutes' walk to either one. The hotel is also across the street from Tour Montparnasse. There are also many bus lines that stop at Montparnasse which I find more enjoyable than taking the Metro.

Bottom Line:
A decent hotel at a good location. However, if you are staying for more than 1 night, I think it is worthwhile to spend more for a bigger room than the one we got.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and were very impressed by this small friendly hotel. I know Paris very well and the Waldorf is perfectly situated for all local transport and shops.

We had a room with a small balcony and it was lovely to watch the hustle and and bustle of Parisien street life. The sound proofed rooms meant that the same lively street activity never disturbed our sleep.

On the third day our loo stopped flushing and the repair man was there within 20 minutes to fix it. I couldn't have asked for more efficient or friendly service.

The resturants and bars in Montparnase are first rate, Le Select & La Couplole in particular, and the left bank is just a stroll away. If you want a view of paris to rival that from the top of the Eifel Tower, then cross the road from the hotel's front door and take a super fast lift to the observation deck of the Tour Montparnasse. The view is breath taking and the exhibition of Paris's history is informative.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a trip to France, and while in Paris stayed in this hotel. This hotel was a great find! Hotel Waldorf is conveniently located in the Montparnasse area, which we thought was an excellent area to stay in, and will without a doubt recommend the area to other travelers.

Hotel Waldorf is a block away from major metro lines, as well as the Gare Montparnasse station (which has suburban and TGV trains). The hotel is surrounded by tons of brasseries and small restaurants. Unlike some of the other areas in Paris, Montparnasse is not too touristy, and in our opinion gives a more authentic experience of the life of Parisians.

The hotel itself was very clean and cozy. There was A.C., and our room even had a balcony. The room was cleaned everyday, and stocked with clean towels. The staff was also very helpful, and they all spoke English. They also offer a breakfast for a reasonable price, but we did not try it.

The hotel also had very reasonable rates, which was very important to us (considering the USD/Euro exchange rate).

Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Not only is it situated in a great location, but it truly is a great find with all the amenities that you will need on a trip to Paris.

We have just returned from visiting Paris. If you wish to stay in the Montparnasse aarea of Paris, then this is the hotel to stay at. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

It is within easy reach of several metro stations. It is overlooked by the Montparnasse Tower and is a very lively area but the room was well glazed and we heard hardly any traffic noise. The room also had air conditioning.

We would certainly stay there agin.

On our trip to Paris we stayed at the Hotel Waldorf Montparnasse.
The hotel itself is small but is ideally located for exploring Paris as the metro is literally a stones throw away which there are three lines to choose from. Monmarte, the Louvre and Musee de Orsay are easy access from this hotel. If You get out at Concorde on the number 4 line from this hotel, it brings you out at the bottom of the champs elysees and it is lovely to walk through the jardin des tuileries up to the louvre.

The hotel itself is rather pleasant and the receptionists are very very helpful in assisting you in the best directions and places to visit. They will even allow you to smoke in the rooms provided you lean out of the window with it open. The only downside is that if you get a room at the front of the hotel, the English Pub next door (which is more like a nightclub) is really busy with many young french students crawling out at 4 in the morning. However saying this, keeping the windows shut drowns out the noise.

There is a mini bar in the rooms and tea and coffe can also be provided. Breakfast is 8 euros for breads and jams but there are many brasseries in montparnasse who will provide a nice breakfast, for around the same price.

You can get the number 6 line also from montparnasse and if you get out at Trocadero, it brings you out to the most amazing view of the eiffel tower. For those who have never been to Paris, it is worth going to see this at night as the tower lights sparkle on the hour.
