“The Rive Gauche hotel is one of our favorite reasons to go to Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

We went to Europe to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and the six nights we spent here was the focus of our trip. We stayed here five years back, and loved the neighborhood, so we were eager to return there this time around.
The bus to the Orly airport is at the front door, and the RER train to both airports is a few blocks away. There is a Metro station a block away, as well as a laundry place, a grocery store and all the restaurants that anyone could want. If you wander two blocks away, you get more grocery choices, a bakery, a bus to center city (#27) and so on.
The staff here is attentive and professional, the room service is divine, and the restaurant and bar downstairs mean you never need to go out, if you don't want to. They have an excellent business center, a wonderful gym for your use 24/7, and all the quality that a Marriott brand would bring. No details were left unchecked, and requests were graciously handled.
I am hopeful that we can go to Europe again someday. If we go, we will surely stay here again.

This large and comfortable Marriott is off the main drag -- think that is a bad thing? Wrong -- since it is within a half block of a Metro stop (Glaciere) it is easy to get everywhere (just buy the Metro App for your smart phone and you can get around easily). It is also a 10 minute walk to the hop on-hop off bus stop for L'Tour. Large hotel with nice rooms and a great concierge staff. Very comfortable, especially if you are eligible for the CL (then free breakfast and snacks all day). Terrific place for Marriott rewards people. Nice neighborhood but not within walking distance of the major sites. The room rates (if you are paying) are about 1/2 of the Marriott in the center of the Centre. The savings and the style of the hotel make this a real bargain. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a high floor with a City view.

Located away from the main sites but easy access to all of them with metro stations one block in either direction. The RAR B direct line to CDG airport is 3 easy blocks walk and there are many restaurants and cages nearby. At first I thought I might have reservations about staying at this hotel but I am pleased to say it was a great choice. I would recommend it highly.

My Husband and I were on our Honeymoon. Upon our arrival, they gave us an early check in and a room with a great view. When the very friendly staff found out it was our honeymoon, a waiter showed up at our door with a large bottle of water and french cookies, complements of the staff. It was the best experience we have ever had at a hotel. Our room was comfortable, from our bed, to the bathroom, to the very clean and tastefully decorated bathroom. It was a wonderful time. I loved the location, and the price was very reasonable for overseas. HIGHLY encourage staying here!!!

I am a great fan of the Marriott chain of hotels which is why we chose this hotel for a short break in Paris. I was really disappointed. As independent travellers we were marginalised in the face of an onslaught of tours and conferences. We chose an executive room so we could use the executive lounge as we have done in other cities. The lounge was on the 3rd floor our room on the 17th. The full lounge service was not available at the weekend. The room was adequate and the bed very comfy. The bathroom was dated and a little grubby. The decor was redolent of the 1980's and the hotel a poor example of the brand.Perhaps I was expecting too much.

The hotel holds conferences and so if that is not the reason for your stay, perhaps you should find another hotel further north. If you are attending a conference or staying for other reasons, choose a room as high as possible for the best views of the city. Asking for a room that faces the main road will give you a view of the Sacré Coeur. I stayed in room 1658 (16th floor) with a King sized bed (nice soft sheets) and loads of pillows. Rooms have a good working desk a bathroom with a decent bath with a shower above and a small WC via a separate door. The 17th & 18th floors are designated as executive and the exec breakfast lounge (which I was invited to) got busy near the coffee machine and in the last 30 mins before the conference. Trust the concierge – the made a good suggestion for dinner or head up the Opera and walk north for lots of ad hoc choice. The Italian (turn right out of the hotel and 2nd restaurant along) was good for lunch (pizza). Decent (English) service/menus.

Room Tip: Stay on a high level floor facing the road for good views. The Italian place turn right is what you...

A friend and I stayed here during the month of August. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood with a few restaurants near by. The concierge, Phillip, was especially helpful giving directions and recommedations as to where to eat, louge and dance. He made us feel very welcomed.

Some things to note: The blowdryer did not work but was replaced quickly (and in the middle of the night). The room service was average; they always forgot to put something on the cart.

Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is American friendly.
