We have just returned from a weekend break in Paris and stayed at the Husa Calais hotel. The hotel was excellent with very friendly and efficient staff. The check in was faultless and we were checked in by 12pm allowing us the rest of the day to explore. The room was quite small, but had very comfortable beds and was spotlessly clean. It also had air conditioning which is a must for the summer months in Paris and a small mini-bar fridge in the room which you can use to keep your own drinks cold! The bathroom was extremley small, but was clean and had a good shower. The reception staff were very helpful and we were able to leave our bags after checking out whilst we enjoyed our last day in Paris.

The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from the Moulin Rouge and the metro station 'Blanche' which provides great transport links into Paris. The Sacre Coeur and Montmartre are a short walk away and there is a good choice of restaurants 5 minutes from the hotel at the Place de Clichy. The Hotel is on the cusp of the Pigalle area (the red light district of Paris), however, we did feel safe walking around this area.

All in all, we had a very enjoyable weekend and would highly recommend the Husa Calais Hotel as a relatively cheap hotel option which offers you the basics; a clean room, comfy bed, good service and excellent transport links to the rest of Paris.

We would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Paris again.

Given the other review written for this hotel we were a little worried about our recent stay at this hotel. We were completely blown away at how pleasant our stay here was. We arrived and quickly found the hotel 2 short blocks away from the Metro. We were never scared walking around the neighborhood, and spent a lot of time just watching the people on the street from our window.

Looking out our window, we would ALMOST be able to see the Moulin Rouge, but it was NEVER noisy enough here to disrupt our sleep. The lobby is immaculate with a very friendly and helpful staff. All of the desk clerks that we talked to spoke at least enough English for us to be able to get our point across.

The room was extremely small, but very clean and the beds were quite comfortable. This is absolutely where we will stay at on future trips to Paris. We had no qualms about our stay here whatsoever.

Was quite cheap, couldn't really expect any more for you money, but in a really noisy street (well it was on Saturday night) with noise/cars/music/shouting all night. Room very small. shower good, and staff friendly. Probably great for those in twenties who want to stay somewhere lively and go clubbing with all the Parisians who park outside.
