The hotel was in a great location. The staff were generally very helpfull and certainly helped us to book trips around Paris, and told us where banks, etc were. Some were more helpful than others, and a couple did not speak much English.
The breaksfasts were included for us, and were very good.
The hotel was a maze of stairs and corridors, but we managed to find out way around. Yes, the lift is tiny, but wasn't a problem.
My room was tiny, even smaller than I expected [have been to Europe and Paris before]. I know you are in the cenre of Paris, well nearly, so you have to put up with it or pay more. My window did not look outside at anything, sort of a well, so was always dark, a little depressing. I would either ask for a bigger room with a proper window ifr I stayed again, not this room.
The location was great, plenty of restaurants, and great shops, and just around the corner from the magnificent Opera house. The public transports was nearby too, and the tours we organised through the hotel were all good.
We did have trouble booking our taxi the morning we left. They do not book them ahead, [we were travelling by Eurostar], and suggested we get public transport there. My friend is elderly and would not have been able to drag his bags through the streets and tiny laneways of Paris.
They could not get through to the taxi company in the morning, and did not seem very worried. We had to go and get one from the street, and get him to come to collect us. Annoying and worrying when you have to be on time.
Otherwise good, not great, but pretty good.
