“Boutique style, friendly and helpful staff, good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

Just 5 mins walk from Cadet Metro station with loads of cafe's, bars and restaurants close by. Would definitely recommend the Cafe Folies, directly opposite the hotel. We stayed in a Prestige double room, beautifully appointed, ideal for a short stay up to 2/3 nights, anything longer and you will miss the lack of drawer/cupboard space. The room is a classic case of design/style over function/ practicality. One negative point, bring your own hand/face flannels as they're not supplied. Good breakfast, reasonably priced sets you up for a days sightseeing.

Dear Hug-bug,

As a confirmed traveller, your nice comments are even more valuable to us.
The entire team was happy to see you enjoyed your stay within and around the hotel.

For your information, face clothes are not part of the standard bathroom set up as most of our guests do not use them, however they are available upon request ; so for your next stay with us, don't bother bringing any with you, just ask for some to be delivered to your room!

Hoping to have the pleasure of welcoming you soon again.
Kind regards,

Catherine Steckar-Ganas

Just got back from a 3 night stay in this great hotel, its very well located we used the metro Cadet which was just a 5 minute if that, walk from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and the room although on the small size was very well laid out. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishing were of a high standard. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel there was a great bakery at the bottom of the road which sold fantastic pastries etc. The mini bar in the room was reasonably priced and tea and coffee were provided every day. We would have liked a ice machine on the floor however the staff in the bar were more than happy to give you a bucket of ice when asked for. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, in fact quiet a few opposite the hotel.
Every where in the hotel was spotless, we loved our stay here and would recommend it.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Just spent 3 nights in the hotel. Many things worth being mentioned. Will perform a quick review over those. First, the location: perfect, equally close to two metro lines within a couple of minutes walking distance. Second, an extremely nice and well-trained staff, which is one of the reasons I will come back when I visit Paris. The staff at the reception were exceptional and always smiling. We were very well welcomed and offered a free upfrade to a bigger room with no supplement to pay. The staff that were holding the breakfast stand were so nice, discussing with us and giving us some advice. I liked the express breakfast option which was very convenient for me. Rooms were VERY comfortable despite the fact they were rather small. However , we found the mattresses and pillows extremely comfortable, and the 4 stars rating is well deserved as for the quality of the furniture and beddings, as well as for the bathroom design and material used. Nespresso machine with two capsules offered daily, a great mini-bar quite affordable. The only thing was the size of the rooms, which do not represent a major issue since in Paris in June, so little time is left to spend in the room, as there is still daylight till 22h00. However for those who, like me, are big demanders in terms of comfort and cleanliness for those rare moments spent in the hotel, BEST WESTERN Le Carre Folies Opera totally answered my needs. And I was happy to realize The 4 stars rating was adequate. Also there was free wifi in all the hotel. I would definitely go back whenever I visit Paris. Just to let those interested know, the hotel offers airport shuttle services for 18euros per person, providing the booking is made 24 hours in advance.

This is a teeny hotel in a convenient location. We upgraded to a Prestige room upon checking in, but even these were very tiny, and I hit my head on the slanted ceiling a few times as the rooms are on the top floor and built under the eaves. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. The beauty of this hotel is the small but extremely accommodating staff, who are polite and helpful, ready to see to your every need. The hotel is tucked onto a little side street, right across from Folies Bergere. The neighborhood is a little noisy, but not awful - things quiet down by about 1 am. Paris isn't a HUGE city, so even though you think you're going to be too far from many of the sights by staying in the 9th arr, you're really not. It's about 8 euros in a cab to the Louvre and also the metro is nearby. For the price, this is an excellent little hotel!

The room was clean and the service was good, but the room was extremely small, despite being at the Executive level. The cost of the hotel was excessive ( 370 euro per nights), although June is a peak period in Paris. I am convinced it is possible to obtain better value for money in a good location in Paris. In fact I wanted to change the hotel for the second night, to stay in the hotel of some friends ( better located, larger rooms, and only slightly more expensive), but since I had prepaid the 2 nights , I would not have obtained a refund.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay at the Hotel Best Western Premier Le Carre Folies Opera.

We are glad you enjoyed it overall. Regarding the price, it is true that the week of the Airshow is one of the most expensive ones in Paris, however the price you prepaid was not 370€ but 278€, i.e. a very good price considering the period...

Hoping we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back during quieter moments,
We remain in the meantime,

Truly yours,

This hotel has been renovated well. The layout of rooms is modern and stylish. The only quibble being the glass door to the bathroom and toiler isn't great for privacy. We also struggled with the air conditioning controls. It has a small downstairs lounge and bar. The neighbourhood is nothing special but it is just a few hundred metres to the metro.
Unfortunately though our experience of the staff wasn't positive like other reviewers. The man on the evening desk was curt and and times rude with my wife. Certainly this gave an offputting impression. Others wise would have given a 4 out of 5.

Dear sir,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent visit in our hotel.

On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will implement improvements to ensure each member delivers a service up to the same standards.

Regarding the bathrooms doors, the glass ones do include revolving curtains to ensure more privcy ; however for your next visit we duly noted that you would prefer a wooden door.

We hope that you will consider staying with us again soon, and remain in the meantime,

Truly yours,
Catherine Steckar-Ganas

A great hotel, right next to the folies bergere round the corner from some great bars and cafes and a short walk to the metro!
The service is extremely friendly
And the rooms although small (compared to other hotels elsewhere in the world, apparently all Paris hotel rooms are small!) are very modern, stylish, comfortable and quiet.
When I return to Paris I will most certainly choose this hotel again!
