“Perfect, comfortable base for exploring Paris!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

If you're looking for stylish, this is not the place for you, but if you're looking for somewhere that's priced well, comfortable, clean and in a great location to access the sites, then Opera Cadet is the hotel for you.

Room was a perfect size for 2, the bed was very comfortable, black out curtains ensured a great night's sleep and the tv had various UK channels to keep up with the soaps! (BBC1/2, ITV1/2, BBCNews). Breakfast was small but still had plenty of choice of British and continental options.

The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and a map was provided. We could also leave our luggage on our last day in a secure room.

Location wise, 20 mins walk south to the Louvre and 15 mins north to Sacre Couer. Cadet station was opposite the hotel, and there was another metro station five mins walk south with two different lines. We got everywhere easily and felt very safe walking at night.

Highly recommended.

Recently visited the lobby bar at the Opera Cadet Hotel in Paris. We have stayed at this hotel on several occassions and this time was part of a tour group staying elsewhere in Paris. My wife and I went by the Opera Cadet to see if Jack was still bartending in the lobby bar and sure enough, there he was. Visitors to Paris may want to check out this location. The bar is small, 6 or 8 chairs at the bar, several couches and seats adjacent to the bar. Jack the bartender provides a warm reception, he is friendly and good conversationalist. He is one of the top bartenders we have come across in our travels.

One drawback - if you are not a hotel guest, you must settle up with cash at the bar. There is an ATM machine about 200-feet up the street, around the corner. Other thab that, good time, good drink (Best Calvados in all of France) and good time.

We have submitted reviews on the hotel itself in the past. Great location, good proces, pedestrian street-shopping area (bakery across the street from hotel is great spot also), near metro stop (Cadet). Check it out,

If an apartment is not practical this hotel is fine. We had to do a day trip out of Paris so a hotel was best for our 2 day stay. Helpful staff. Located in a nice pedestrianised street with a good choice of eateries within easy walking distance. Close to the metro and bus stops. It is no criticism of the Cadet but an apartment is our preferred place to stay

We had a very enjoyable 4 night stay at the Opera Cadet in Paris which was our first trip to Paris. The staff were so helpful and friendly all over the hotel - we were very impressed. It's a great safe location with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Of course the Opera is nearby and is well worth a visit. This is also where you can get the Open-Tour bus for hop-on / hop-off tours. The Sacre Coeur and the Montmarte area is also worth seeing and within walking distance or by bus. Thanks to our stay at this hotel and especially Jennifer, Alain and Jacques, we really enjoyed Paris.

It's not often you find someplace that has all the essentials: central location, reasonable price and all the services you need. It's rarer still to find this and the nicest staff in a hotel. The concierge, restaurant, room attendants and the 'best barman in Paris' all made sure our visit was a perfect as it could be. The hotel room was spotless, has the best range of TV services I've seen, and a well stocked mini bar. Add to this the fare in the restaurant, and you have my favourite hotel in Paris by a country mile.
If your looking for an über-posh over priced place or a cheap hotel - look elsewhere. If there's a more welcoming hotel in Paris, I've yet to find it. If you have stayed once, you will return, as I have repeatedly.
Where else would you see people from another hotel enjoying the bar hospitality at another ?
Highly recommended.

This hotel was wonderful in every way. The staff was very helpful and met every request with a smile. The lobby and rooms were perfectly clean. (and great mattresses for a good night's sleep.) There were 2 good-sized elevators, so never a wait. The breakfast is delicious! The bartender was so interesting to talk to, and had a smile for everyone. Best of all is the perfect location, on a quaint street with delightful shops and eateries. Metro Cadet is a step away. This hotel is completely worth the cost, a bargain in fact for all that it offers.

In the first week of October I was in Paris and stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. Good hotel with shops, metros and markets in walking distance. Lot of cafes and restaurants nearby. Not very far from beautiful places of Paris like river sienna, Eiffel tower, etc. Stay was comfortable and they had good choice of breakfast. The wi-fi connection is complimentary and works very well all over the hotel. The staff too is very helpful with anything that you need. All in all we had a very comfortable experience. Loved Paris. As European rooms are small so in this hotel as well but not tiny.
