“Very good hotel - big bathroom”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Sofitel Scribe is very well located in Paris, near Place Vendome, there is a very good hair salon, right beside the hotel and it's near good restaurants and stores. You can walk to Louvre or Champs Elysee!
The rooms have a good size and are very confortable and the bathroom in my room was big, which is a nice surprise in Paris.

Dear guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I am delighted to read you have enjoyed the location of the hotel. We are indeed in the heart of the City of Lights, which makes it perfect for shopping and/or sightseeing.
Hotel Scribe Paris, the originally "Jockey Club" Headquarter, has undergone various renovations since it has first opened. In 2007, Jacques Grange, the Interior Designer has restyled the rooms, therefore offering greater space and comfort to our guests.

It will be our pleasure to welcome you again in the very near future.

Warm wishes from Paris,

Yet another Sofitel run hotel that ticks all right the boxes for hospitality, superb accommodation, immaculate but welcoming comfortable surroundings, excellent food. and most importantly that remarkable ability of making every guest feel unique and special.

The hotel is well situated near The Paris Opera House, in the close vicinity of some of Paris's finest shopping emporiums, boulevards and streets.

The Lumiere Restaurant served high standard cuisine in comfortable surroundings, and the tea room at the front of the hotel offered the most scrummy pastries seen for many a year, as well as a fair old cup of tea.

We will be back!

Dear guest,

It is an absolute pleasure to read your kind words. At the Hotel Scribe Paris, we strive for service excellence. Needless to say, your expert eye is a great indicator of our achievement, and your satisfaction is our best reward.

The tea house, aside from offering authentic French delicacies prepared by our Pastry Chef, also provides homemade honey (the beehives are located on the hotels’ rooftop) and a pleasant reading area on the top floor. This outlet is also known as being the first Louis Vuitton boutique.

We will be delighted to welcome you back upon your next Parisian trip.

Best regards,

Stayed at Hotel Scribe for 4nights - lovely hotel and excellent service especially by the concierge staff who happen to be all ladies. They arranged Disneyland and the Louvre and thanks to their advice, avoided all the long queues!

This hotel is very popular - foyer can be very crowded and bellboys too busy to attend to you.

Overall, a very good hotel, has excellent staff who attended to my children very well and is overall a most pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Families - ask for connecting room.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking time to share your experience.

Coming to Paris is often synonym of great discoveries. Whenever it is doable, our Concierge team would provide with tickets to few of the most popular local attractions. No one wants to wait in line hours while on holiday!
Our Concierge team is the only one in Paris composed exclusively of ladies. And they also are Golden Keys concierge, which is by far the best recognition in the industry. Some of them have been working at the Hotel Scribe Paris for more than 20 years, making them experts in the City of Lights.
In the hope of welcoming you again in the near future.

Best regards,

Nadjet B.

Our second stay for six days at the Hotel Scribe made our visit to Paris especially memorable. We had to wait a while upon check-in, but Natalya and others at check-in and check out were most gracious in making sure we were comfortable until our room was ready. Mme. Nadjet welcomed us and showed us to our Club Sofitel Luxury Room which was nicely appointed and spacious. The restaurant, Le Lumiere, was excellent both in quality of food and service. The Parisian pastries offered were outstanding. Our breakfasts provided a wide variety of food and the service was very good. Mme. Linda, the concierge was most helpful in assisting us in navigating the Metro, and the doormen were very accommodating in arranging for taxis. The location is outstanding as it is close to the Opera, the Place Vendome, Jardin des Tuileries, the Louvre, and numerous restaurants and shopping. From the moment we stepped in the door to our checkout, we felt as if we were special guests. We will definitely return to the Hotel Scribe on our next visit to Paris.

Room Tip: We are LeClub members and were pleased with the LeClub room on the fifth floor with a balcony.

Paris hotels are expensive and the Scribe is no exception though around 60% of the price at the likes of the George V and Bristol. A Junior suit was more than €700 per night including breakfast and taxes. Understandably, it is not comparable. The hotel is well-situated, well-run, and has a good restaurant that rightly boasts one Michelin star. On the other hand the public areas are generally not especially grand or even pristinely maintained. The breakfast room gives the impression of a railway station and the breakfast buffet is mediocre (for example, Smoked Salmon is only available to order). My junior suite was excellent, with a large separate sitting room, and equally spacious bathroom (though absent a rain shower and absent a bidet). The Sofitel "mybed" and pillows are super comfortable. The toiletries are Hermes. The laundry service was exemplary. I would stay at the Scribe again. Sofitel do run good hotels at the top end of four star and bottom end of five star which is exactly where the Scribe fits. The spa looks reasonable and the gym is fine, though very small with only three pieces of cardio equipment.

Room Tip: A room without scaffolding outside is preferable but this is only a temporary inconvenience.

Dear guest,

It is a pleasure to read your comments as I understand you have had the time to explore our outlets and services.

One can only see that prices in Paris are quite high. This is due to numerous conferences, events, fashion shows etc, taking place in the September/October period.
I am sorry to read you have not found our breakfast to your taste. We have considered all comments from our guests and have amended a couple of products to match their needs. As for the salmon, since it is a sensitive item, we prefer to keep it refrigerated until requested to avoid health issues.

I sincerely hope this has not tarnished your wish to stay again at the Hotel Scribe Paris.

Kind regards,

Nadjet B.
