“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Had a most enjoyable stay here for our first trip to Paris,Hotel is situated very close to the Moulin Rouge so suggest you book seats for this as it very easy to walk to the venue, lots of great restaurants up the hill to the right, seems to be a great place to meander and soak in the atmosphere. The hotel room was spot on, the breakfast was a bit basic but plenty of eateries within walking distance, no need to starve. The metro is close but we walked down to the centre and even Napolians tomb from the hotel.keep going downhill till you get to the river you can't get lost, then head back up to the Sacre Cur great landmark,

The lobby of the hotel looks like a metrostation in state of renovation. The valet crew seems to be lost since their working space is reduced for 90 percent. Check in has not been renovated since 1982, the last time they renovated the hotel. There is an computer at the lobby but you have to sit on a kind of child seat and everybody can see which internet sites you are visiting. The second half of our stay somebody changed the keybord settings so you can not consult anything. The breakfast space is also completeley outdated. You have a surpirsing alternative at the nearby Mc Donalds : great and diverse breakfasts at half of the price . On the positive side : the elevators are great and the rooms can do. Good location. But why not consider the completly renovated Ibis next door. We stumbled in by accident. Supermodern with a great service. Once the renovation completed Mercure will be great. But I strongly advice not to go to this hotel in 2013.

I visited in the hotel for 5 days. The rooms is clean and big enough to 2 people.
Breakfast is like other hotels in this levels and definitely satisfying.
I didn't like the elevetors, sometimes I rather to go down in stairs but is didn't critical.
The location is good and there is metro station 2 minutes away from the hotel and direct line to Champs-Élysées.

My wife and I ended a short vacation here during a period of hot weather in Paris. The hotel sailed through our first and most important test when we walked into a cool, airconditioned room. We didn't take advantage of the hotel bar or restaurant but our room was well cleaned every day, we were given adequate supplies for coffee and tea, and the room was easily large enough for two visitors. The desk staff spoke very good English. The location is outstanding.

I'd been planning to visit Paris for a while and when both Accor & Eurostar had a sale on, I decided I just had to go. I found a good rate on this hotel and plumped for one of their 'Privilege' rooms (8th floor). Alas, I didn't have a view of the Eiffel Tower, but did have a nice view of Sacré-Cœur, the highest point in Paris.

A result of the high terrain in this area means you do get decent views of Paris from the upper floors and you can see that in the pictures posted by other users.

As previous reviewers have mentioned, there is renovation work going on, but let's face it, when you're in Paris, why would you want to be in the hotel during the day?! I barely noticed it, except when I checked in at lunchtime, so I could leave my bags in my room.

It is noisy outside in the street, even 8 floors up, but once I closed the windows at night (I left them open to cool the room), you can't hear much from outside.

The staff themselves were very helpful and there was at least one person at reception at all times who spoke good english (as my French is awful!).

For the Metro, the location is great as one of the entrances is just along the street.

The only downside concerns my room having one of those connecting doors for the adjacent room. The security aspect was not an issue as it can't be opened from other side, but it meant less sound-proofing and I could hear the occupants talking next door. If they have rooms without connecting doors then I'll ask for one of those next time.

Would I stay there again? Definitely.

Tip: For English speakers, there's only news channels in English on the TV, but some of the channels have the option for English audio when an Amercian TV show or film is on.

Dear Guest,
We thank you for sharing your feedback on TripAdvisor.
As you said, there are renovation works in our lobby but it will be finished in two weeks! We deplore the noise from the room next door. We only have a few connecting rooms, so please, during your next stay here, don't hesitate to ask for a non-connecting room.
We hope to welcome you very soon!
Sincerely,
Eric Rochedy,
General manager

I stayed here for 2 nights in March this year. After reading great reviews about the hotel we were happy when it met our expectations. The location of the hotel is great only 5 mins walk to the Moulin Rouge and again 5 mins walk to the metro station which connected to all points of interest. The rooms were nice but basic and i didnt like the idea of the toliet being separate from the rest of the bathroom! It was really cramped however, we were only in the room for sleeping and it was fine for what we needed it for. The reception staff were extremely friendly and were happy enough to give us directions and maps to visit where we wanted to go.
I would stay in this hotel again
