“Perfect!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

We've booked five nights at the hotel, breakfast included. Modern design but still remaining the typical parisian style. Room very comfortable, clean, good TV screen, free wi-fi, Ipod dock and Nespresso machine. Great bathroom!!
The hotel location was absolutely perfect! A quiet and wonderful zone of Paris, nearby good restaurants, music stores and a little market place (Auchan). Easy to walk on to center Paris and main attractions but also with 2 metro stations close by, with good access to RER A (Eurodisney) and RER C (Versailles).
Just Lovely!!!

A four night stay at this hotel was booked for me and my partner to celebrate her birthday. The hotel location is in a lovely quiet district of Paris, surrounded by music stores and small restaurants, but walking distance to many of the main city attractions and only 2 minutes from metro stop for anyone not wanting to walk. The hotel is very modern and designed in contemporary style in memory of Marcel Proust. The room was not large, but then is any hotel room in Paris, but adequate for couple sharing. The mini bar, Ipod dock and espresso machine were all welcome and used repeatedly during our stay. The shower was great and the bathroom clean and modern with a very funky sliding door. The only negative from us was the hotel bar was not open on weekend.

Dear Gareth,

Thank you very much for this amazing review!
What a delight to read you have had a perfect stay with us, and enjoyed the features of the room as well as the hotel atmosphere!

The literary universe of Marcel Proust has been chosen for the new setting of the hotel. Did you notice the multilingual library in the lobby ?

We would be very pleased to welcome you in the next future. Many thanks again for your lovely comment!

Best Regards,

The Customer Relationship Manager.

It was raining and cold when we arrived well before normal check-in time. The manager on duty happened to be working the front desk. After the front desk attendant was checking room availability, the manager was able to offer us an upgraded room that was immediately available at no extra charge. The room was small but elegantly sufficient and well-appointed. The bathroom was large, modern, and luxurious. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Dear Seàn,

Thank you so much for this amazing review! I am delighted to notice you had a very good experience at the Best Western Premier le Swann.

You have been upgraded into an Executive room, which is called "La Belle Parisienne" : it is bigger than its little sister "La Parisienne", and is also more quiet thanks to its view on the courtyard. I am glad you liked it, as well as its bathroom.

Did you notice the name which was on your room's door ? Actually, each room of the hotel has a different name, related to one important character or element of Marcel Proust's books.

We all look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Best Regards,

The Customer Relationship Manager.

My husband I decided to extend our stay in Paris in late last month and we're lucky enough to get a last minute deal with this hotel. Each room are named after different artists and we had a great stay in the 'Rembrandt' room (604) with a balcony and an amazing view of Montmartre's Sacre Coeur.
Before I get on with all the great things, here are some items to note.
1. Yes, the rooms are small but remember you're in 8th district in at a Best Western chain (which, my husband and I have had great experiences with) not a luxury chains as the Langham, Park Hyatt, Shangri-La, etc.
2. The big light shade in our room was really not necessary and didn't seem to serve a purpose. I'm no art or literary officianado so maybe this was lost on me but regardless, it emitted a low orangey light that may have been to create atmosphere. What it reminded us of was the eye of Sauron (for you LOTR fans). It made the room look even smaller and low enough to bump heads. Lucky it's made of some tissue-like fabric with no bottom frame.
3. Night shift attendants seem to not be as fluent in English and will not be able to help you with the computer or printer downstairs but are at least more than happy to print items you need if you email it. Maybe they could at least be given the password in case the computer needs to be restarted.
3. No porters so please don't expect your bags to be taken care of.
4. Small lifts so grab a trolley for your hubby to take the bags up while you 'wait' for him at the bar downstairs. Yes, there are two; one by the staircase, the other by reception.
5. Take care on the staircase, the carpet pattern combined with spiral staircase can make you misjudge your step so for those clumsy people like me, use the bannisters or stay close to the wall
6. Glass wall partition for the bathroom. Tastefully frosted with quotes but I used to have remind my husband of the balcony in order to get rid of my "performance anxiety" (we're not that kind of couple that can do such things in front of each other).
Now all the great stuff!
* Location, location, location! Close to one of the main train stations, St Lazare, which not only connects you to other metro lines but will also take you to Versailles. 20min walk to the main attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Champs Elys...(I forget how to spell it, not even gonna try). Take a morning stroll at Patc Monceau and see Monet's inspiration. Lug all your shopping from Printemps and Lafayette. Do your washing, get a massage, buy some toiletries and essentials, have coffee or beer all on the same strip.
* Facilities. We didn't order room service not did we eat breakfast here but their room service menu isn't bad at all just don't expect to order entrees or drinks alone even if you are willing to pay for the privilege. You're given a Nespresso coffee machine with two coffee pods daily (actually three but who drinks decaf?). Shower never ran out of hot water and doesn't let you get the water too hot.
* clean!
* great service! We were an hour early for check in and booked through Wotif and we weren't treated any different or made to wait. Staff were always willing to help and were ready with such tools as a scale, sticky tape, ice (need to drink while packing).
* it's the little things like the helpful guides in both French and English, free and reliable wifi that doesn't require a password, slippers and bathrobes, a safe, a double bed that's not actually two singles pushed together, etc.
A room tip, don't be put off by the low ceilings of the sixth floor, just ask for a balcony because even though it's only big enough to fit up to four people standing, it fits a chair to sit back on and rest your feet up while you watch the colours of the day change to night and vice versa.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for this very complete and rather positive review!
Your comment is very valuable for us, as it let us know what can be improved, and what has to be kept as it is.

We are delighted you have enjoyed your room and its amazing view! Some rooms of the top floor have a view on the Sacré Coeur indeed, which is lovely, I do agree with that!

Once again, thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again soon.

Best Regards,

The Customer Relationship Manager.

Got a very nice, top floor room with a small balcony from which we could see the Sacre Coeur. Room more than big enough with a nice shower, good Wi-fi and an Espresso machIne and complimentary water.

Can't think of anything negative, really nice place in a good area and the staff were friendly and efficient - couldn't ask for more.

Dear Client,

Thank you so much for this adorable review! The whole staff thanks you for this comment and your kind compliments.

I am so glad everything met your expectations! Coming from a great traveller as you seem to be, we feel honoured by your review of 5 out of 5.

You had a room on the 6th floor, which is the Great Painters' floor. Each room of this level is dedicated to a famous painter, mentionned in the books of Marcel Proust. You probably had a Vermeer or a Rembrandt themed room!

We really hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again.

Best Regards,

The Customer Relationship Manager.

We stayed here for 5 nights, had a lovely room with a balcony. The room was not massive but it was big for Paris, very clean and fresh. The shower was fantastic- great water pressure, always got and cleaned daily. There was an iPod Dock & coffee machine which came in very handy!

Le Swann was a lovely hotel, we stayed for 3 nights while we did sight seeing. The room was very clean the bed was so comfortable, great shower, the toilet room was small but it wasn't a problem. We had drinks every night in the bar and the staff were very friendly. Situated near the RER (Trains) so easy to get around Paris. The hotel has safes in the rooms that are easy to use. We checked out at lunch time and the hotel stored our cases so we could collect them later, this enabled us to do some more sightseeing, as we would have found it difficult waiting around for a late flight.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit to this hotel and a lift to all floors:-)

Dear Linda,

Thank you so much for your fantastic review! I am so delighted the service we provide met all your expectations!

Rest assured I will share your wonderful compliments to the staff. I am glad you have enjoyed the bar of the hotel. Did you try one of the original cocktails we offer ?

The front desk staff will always go the extra mile for your satisfaction; they offer the concierge services that you may require thoughout your stay, such as a cabaret or a restaurant reservation, but also the tours that you can book directly from the reception.

Once again, thank you for this very nice feedback. We hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again soon.

Best Regards,
