We stayed at the Hotel America Opera in Paris, for 3 nights from the 2nd Jan until the 4th 2008.
The hotel is in a quiet but central location and is about a 5 minute walk away from the nearest metro stop. From here you can catch the metro and acess most of Paris very easily.
Brakfast was included in the price of our room and is servd on the bottom florr of the hotel in the mornings. There was a good selection of food available, with all the usual eg. Ceral, cofee, tea, muffins, toast, bread. We found that this was enough to prepare us for the day of sighseeing ahead! The breakfast room is small, but as we were there at new year, it was quiet and we had no problem getting a table in the mornings.
Our room overlooked the street and we never had any problem with noise.
The room was great but didnt have any tea and coffee facilities, which would have been nice! It was furnished nicely and was sort of like a small flat as the bedroom door opened onto a small hall way, off of which was a door to the bathroom - which did not contain a toilet, this in another door off of the other side of the hall. There was also a small mirrored wardrobe and a safe.
We had a flat screen TV in our room are were able to recieve all the satalite channels such as CNN and Sky news as well as Italian and German ones.
Te staff at the hotel were great and we didnt have any trouble thoughout our stay!
If your looking for somewhere afordable and cenral to stay in Paris, I recommend staying at this hotel.
If we visit Paris again, we would definetly think about staying here again. It more like a 4 star hotel than a 3.
