“No Housekeeping. Additional charge for housekeeping.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

We stayed in the Adagio Haussmann in the first week of this month and though the studio room was pretty decent we were told that there was no free housekeeping and we were told that we will have to shell around 18 Euros each time we wanted to get our room cleaned. Since we stayed for 4 nights, this was very much a problem. And the hotel staff did not even mention about such a weird policy in their confirmation email to us about the reservation or on the hotel voucher.

The location of the hotel is decent though. Breakfast was also good.

Please stay here only after confirming all the details from the hotel.

Room Tip: Confirm about the housekeeping.

Due to work, I had to stay in the Adagio chain hotels for 5 weeks. My stay was split between the Adagio Opera and Adagio Haussmann. The rooms in both locations are old and run down with stained carpets and furnishing.

In addition, there is a clear lack of training for the staff in both locations. I have had house-keeping barge into my room while I was sleeping, demanding that I get out so that they can clean the room. When I complained to the manager, they did not even apologize. I realized that, when confronted with an issue which they don’t like to deal with, they simply take the “ignoring” stance, hoping that the other party will just walk away.

When my laundry was consistently misplaced or lost, staff members were not able to resolve the problems. Neither did they take initiatives in resolving the problems. It finally took talking to the managers before getting any answers.

This is definitely one of the worst places that I have ever stayed at. There are plenty of equally convenient hotels around the same area to stay at while in Paris. Avoid this chain of hotels like the plague.

This location is 20 mins walk or $10 euros cab ride from most major attractions. Department stores, Louvre, Champs-Elysees, train station etc. There is a bus stop in front of this hotel. Plenty of taxi's drive by so it is very easy to wave down a cab or cab stand 1 block away. There is a grocery store 1 block away so you can pick up groceries. Front desk is friendly, breakfast decent, but I prefer to go nearby cafe or cook in suite instead. I booked King Studio and it was perfect. Bed was great, bathroom sufficient, great closet space and mini kitchen contained 2 element stove, microwave, mini-fridge and small dishwasher. There is suffice utensils, kettle, pans etc. to make small meals. There is many restaurants nearby, however, it appears many of local business do not open Saturday and Sundays as I guess they cater more to businesses around there. Fear not though, many things are available within 10 mins walk. The hotel is clean and rooms very efficiently laid out. Do not expect house cleaning service everyday as they only clean once every week (sheets, towels etc.). The rate of this place changes greatly if you want to book for longer term stays. They do have laundry on-site, but they charge 7-9 euros for washer & dryer usage.

I highly recommend this for people who do not mind do a little bit walking) and for longer term stays. I am a solo female traveller and I felt safe in this location.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing away from main road you can hear rush hour traffic from Monday-Friday.

We were a group of 4 and we arrived around 11am on June 20th after a very long overnight flight. We stand at the front desk and the woman is on a personal phone call while twirling her hair. For the next 10 minutes she neither looks at us or acknowledges us in any way. After a few minutes of this, I placed my documents on the counter hoping to tear her attention away from her very important phone call with no response. When she's finally done with her call, she sighs heavily as if the sight of 4 tourists with all their luggage is too much for her. Without any greeting, she said there was only one room available so far and to come back after 2 pm for our other room. She didn't make any suggestions or give any additional information about the hotel or its services. Horrible first impression to make and really tainted our whole view of the hotel. I will say that the manager, when she was around, was responsive to our requests. And every subsequent front desk person was much more pleasant and informative than "phone lady."
The location of the hotel is excellent and everything is within walking distance. The nearby cafes are good and the shopping center and train stations are a short walk away as well. WiFi and internet service was really spotty. We stayed 8 days and since the rooms are cleaned only once a week that meant our rooms were cleaned one day before we left. What seems backwards is if you stay at the hotel for 3 days then your room is cleaned everyday! It was still a fun trip in Paris but don't expect great service or hospitality.

We had a family with two adult children in a quad and they gave us the largest, most beautiful suite in the hotel. We were in the top floor and had a lovely terrace not available in the other rooms with a view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The kitchenette was convenient for breakfast and simple dinners of baguettes and meat and cheese purchased at a nearby market. The bath and kitchen countertops were marble and even the sofa bed was comfortable. The hotel was in easy walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and the Champs Elysee shopping. This was an apartment-like arrangement where breakfast was not included and housekeeping was not supposed to be included but we did get fresh towels and our trash was emptied every day.

We had a great time in Paris. The reason why the service is a bit low, is because some of the resepsjonist could not speak English. We do not know about the cleaning, because we did not have any cleaning in our room. The sleep quality is low because the bed was not comfortable.

We loved the location, and had a great time!

Great location, but no help with it. The lady at the desk oozed attitude from the moment we checked in to every moment we stepped out. When travelling in a group with 3 children under 5, things are chaotic, and if you sit in a non busy lobby, sigh heavily and roll your eyes every time there is an interruption, well then front desk is not for you is it?
We were given no information on bus routes. When we booked a cab to take us to the closest RER for disney (Auber) they got us a *not very nice* cabbie who charged 70 euros! on return we hailed one for 10!!! They manager is great when we complained he got us a refund of 20 from the company, but unfortunately when he is not around, the rest of his team makes me want to never go back there. Its a shame really because the rooms are great, very well stocked kitchenette and convenient location (once we figured it out for ourselves).
