“Very Nice Hotel and Terrific Position!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

We stayed at the Hotel Napoleon because I stayed at this hotel when I was studying in Paris many,many years ago.
The position was perfect; right off the Champs Elysee and close to be able to have an espresso sitting at the "famous" Drugstore on this amazing boulevard!
The staff were very helpful and we had a very nice room; I would suggest booking an Executive room in order to have more space.
The only drawback is that some of the rooms, we stayed there twice in one week, have a very small, strangely designed toilet which does not give you too much space and I am not a big person!

We've stayed here 4/5 times in the past 15 years and will come back again.....mainly because of the location. Within a few minutes walk dozens of wonderfull Parisienne restaurants are available, including Brasseries, Bistros, Couscouseries, and even Pubs, to suit all budgets. Plus easy access to the Metro and picturesque relaxing walks along the beautiful Paris Boulevards, especially the Champs Elysees which is a 2 minute walk away.
Breakfast is good, with freshly pressed orange juice, 3 different kinds of fresh melon and both a hot and cold buffet; expensive, but a short walk to a nearby Brasserie provides cheaper alternatives.
Service is generally good, with a turndown service and English speaking staff and the guests come from every corner of Europe, and beyond.....great for kids to make new friends at Breakfast!

Room Tip: Try to book a room looking towards the Arc de Triomphe or overlooking Avenue Friedland (as long as y...

We chose that hotel because we were able to get a room for 3 persons but with 3 differents beds. Was there with my sister and step-daughter. Lobby is nice, well decorated. Service is good.
Our room, even though it was suite, it was pretty small and we had, the whole night, this bad smell from the air filter in the room. You cant have free internet in the room, you have to connect in the lobby.
Breakfast is expensive, as everything in Paris, and you get a small buffet.
Location is really good. 2 minutes from la tour de pise and les champs elysees.

I went to Paris with my parents and because dad is fond of Napoleon, the Napoleon Hotel was the first thing to book;

Great location, 1 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe and Champes Elysees.

We had a junior suite for 3, a big room with furniture from old times. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is also the hotel lobby with 2 original manuscripts written by Napoleon.

Being such an old hotel, the furniture in the room wasn't refurbished, so it felt a little bit untidy. But i'm more into new modern rooms.

Great experience for a first time in Paris;

Location is perfect. Breakfast is one of the best although not cheap.The room was uncomfortable and had bed smell. Internet connection costs a fortune. The staff are nice but not outstanding. so...it is ok...no more than ok...Napoleon would have probably slept in another property!!

We stayed at an apartament (suite) and it is a very good room. Spacious and very good for 4 people.
The hotel does not have room service 24 hours and we could not get a bottle opener after midnight when we asked for it.

We travel to Paris about every 2 years and this is our go to hotel. We are a family of 4 with the kids being 9 and 14. The location is amazing within a short walk of the champs élysées. We get a junior suite and the kids have their bed and we have ours and there is still room to move around and enjoy the room. The hotel is pretty with a nice winding staircase as an option to the elevator. The decor is napolelonic with pictures and statues throughout. Room service is tasty and well presented. Service is also excellent. There are very few hotels that will allow 4 in a room in Paris and this is by far the best we have found for the price. We often find deals of 1 or 2 nights free so check on line and have your travel agent call the hotel for a specials. It is well worth it when the prices can be $300-400 a night but with 2 nights free it can really reduce the overall cost. You will feel that you have really enjoyed Paris and been treated well at this hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Behind the history of the hotel, hides a love story.... The love story between a rich Russian businessman, Alexander Pavlovich Kliaguine, and a young french student who first met at a "literature salon" in 1928. It was love at first sight. In order to introduce her to Parisian "high society" at the time, he bought a hotel in the prestigious 8th arrondissement and gave it to her as a wedding present. Still today the hotel belongs to the Kliaguine family. Today, following a large renovation program, the hotel is proud to announce its 5th star. With its unique location, just a short walk away from the Champs-Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe, the Hotel Napoleon is one of the most legendary hotels of the city: a fine address to discover and rediscover. Our 52 rooms and 50 Suites are all designed in the Empire style with newly refurbished and modernized colors. A Parisian atmosphere still remains in the Hotel. The Napoleon includes also a Bar- Restaurant: the Bivouac Cafe, 8 meeting spaces and a fitness room. ... more   less
