“Three Star in Four Star's Clothing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

I would be very skeptical of these glowing reviews here. This is an aging property with a three person elevator and old rooms. There is no restaurant and the hotel opens on a back street. Our first room was a sweltering box, the second was larger but soon developed a leak from the toilet ceiling onto the toilet. Expect a view of a wall. Public areas were extremely hot and unairconditioned. Breakfast was simple but adequate, there is room service of cold items only which we did not sample. Location is good but not on a main street; we were told we might or might not get a taxi the morning of our departure adding to our anxiety. Staff was OK. Lobby Decor is strictly vintage "Hotel Ibis" and consists of grubby large plastic snails and meercats - I kid you not. Sure it's Paris but that's no excuse for this mess, in the USA, you would get far more style and service from any upscale roadside motel. You can surely do better for $400+ a night. Again - not a four star even in Paris, don't know who passed out those stars but they never stayed here.

Dear Guests,

Thank you for taking time to post this comment.

We are surprised to read such a comment. You mention “old” rooms, “Hotel Ibis” design and a “backyard” location... We think that your comment is unfair. You don’t speak about your arrival : you asked for a bigger room but the hotel was fully booked and you were three instead of two persons.

You were very rude with the front desk chief, but as we always try to be kind with our guests we found a solution. You were satisfied and even thanked us.

Furthermore, you should know that only local authorities (a qualified public institution) decide on hotel ranking and standards.

We are also very surprised about your severe judgement on our hotel design as you compared us to “Hotel Ibis”. Usually, our guests and professional designers as well, appreciate our stylish and modern hotel design. Indeed, we can understand that we do not all have the same taste for art.

We wish you all the best for your next travel.

Best Regards.

The Hotel de Noailles'Staff.

A well-located hotel (right around the corner from Opera Garnier and Place Vendome, Half an hour walk to the Louvre or the Centre Pompidou). Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. I had a quiet room with a superbly comfortable bed. All good.

we stayed here on two separate occasions in May 2013. It's a good hotel - friendly staff, decent sized rooms for Paris, good breakfast. The location is fantastic - very close to the tourist bureau on Rue pyramides, near the metro and the bus tours. There is a Monoprix store nearby for things like food/snacks, things you may have forgotten like sunglasses or socks etc.

I also would recommed the Japanese restaurant next door as well as the creperie nearby.

The free wi-fi worked well too. Breakfast had a good selection of food for a good start to the day. The hotel itself was very quiet - we slept well.

Dear Guests,

We are convinced your review will be very much appreciated by the TripAdvisor community and would like to thank you. We must concede your comment is a perfect description of our property.

The location is indeniably convenient to enjoy Paris. Indeed our district, our street as well, offers a large choice of restaurants.

When you travel abroad sleep well is precious, our quiet and comfortable rooms are very much appreciated. Moreover the breakfast enables you to start your day in the best conditions.

We hope to welcome you very soon.

Kind Regards.

I suppose I am just going to have to resign myself to the ridiculous price of hotels in Paris. thank God that in the main I don't have to pay for them. This one was over 350€ for one night including breakfast!

A quick business trip found me spending one night in the Hotel Noailles. Very convenient for where I was working, it's also well placed for the Opera metro and for many of the sights. A nice district with many local restaurants - good given that it doesn't have a restaurant itself.

The room (606) was on the small side, with a bathroom separated by a curtain from the main room. separate shower - great and loo, but horrible tacky plastic chairs and a flimsy coffee table. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rom, though there was a mini bar. The bed filled most of the available space so no where to sit in comfort to watch the tv which was a large affair affixed to a bracket and sticking out into the room. Comfy bed though, and good air con in the room which came in handy on a sultry June night.

Excellent breakfast with good service, and great service from the front desk. Although they don't do room service at lunchtime, they sent out for a sandwich for me.

All in all a good hangout for the odd night, but the small ness of the rooms might get you down on a longer stay

Room Tip: 606 had a small balcony - good for a smoker like me!

Dear Guest,

We would like to thank you for taking time to post this long review.

Regarding your comment on the price, be reassured you booked a room during the high season in Paris. Usually the price may be more interesting.

Indeed, the location is very convenient for a business trip. For your next stay, we may recommend a junior suite. This room offers a spacious living room, it enables you to watch television snugly curled up in the sofa.

We are looking forward to welcoming you for your forthcoming stay.

Kind Regards.

This hotel was a really good choice. It was our first trip to Paris and we were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel. It was clean and the service was excellent. The staff were welcoming and helpful. And best of all is the location. It is well located, close to the Opera and the metro station. The area around is very nice and there are many good places you can go to just by walking. The rooms are small but this is the case in most of Paris hotels. But being clean was more important to us than being spacious

The Golden Tulip Opera de Noailles was a wonderful hotel for my first trip to Paris. The service was excellent and the staff were more than helpful in booking dinner reservations and answering questions. We stayed in a junior suite, which was quite spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location of the hotel is also great - walking distance to the Metro, Galeries Lafayette, Opera and Louvre. I enjoyed staying in a part of the city I might not have visited otherwise.

The only downside is that there is no food service. Breakfast is available from a caterer and it was great but otherwise, no food onsite. Overall a great hotel - I would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: The junior suite was quite spacious.

We have been lucky enough to visit Paris on a number of occasions, and rate this the best hotel we have used so far. The location is convenient for many attraction, the metro is close and it is also easy to walk to many key areas from here. The rooms (we were upgraded to a suite which was a lovely surprise) are stylish, well equipped and comfortable. Lots of quirky artwork and sculptures around. Very good breakfast, which can be unusual in Paris hotels in our experience. Extremely helpful staff who on request recommended restaurants within walking distance, and which were wonderful, and exactly what we wanted. Will definitely return here when we visit again.
