“Enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We recently stayed in Paris at the Waldorf hotel. This hotel is a great place to stay as it is fairly central to plenty of eateries and tourist attractions. Hotel staff greeted us with a genuine welcoming and from the minute we walk through the door our bags were collected and delivered to our room with no fuss. Would gladly stay at this place again.

We stayed three nights here. This was our first visit to Paris. The hotel was perfect for our needs and the location was close to all that was "touristy". Loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Kathy on the front desk was extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with, nothing was a problem. The room was small but fine for the 2 of us. We only had brekkie one morning and it was very nice. No complaints about the comfort level of the room. Though we would have preferred at least one English speaking tv channel (other than the news channel). A great European boutique hotel we would return!

We had a lovely stay in Paris and enjoyed our time at the Trocadero. The people on the desk were very friendly and helpful, giving advice on where was good to eat, directions to the sites etc
We arrived early but our room was ready for us, which was nice after travelling by train from Charles de gaulle.
It was very close to the Eiffel Tower, which was great, we ate in one of the restaurants in the Trocadero area which was quite good. They all get very busy as most people want to dine and look at the Eiffel Tower.
Our favourite meal however was in the Latin Quarter at a cosy bistro. The food was excellent as was the service.
Although we loved our time in Paris, if we went again we would stay in the Latin Quarter as it was a bit quirky and interesting. And if you jump on the boat bus, it stops at all the places of interest and you can hop on and hop off, as you please.
I would recommend the Trocadero though, as it is very well located and our room was lovely with a balcony over looking the street. Great for watching the local people going along with their business!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Waldorf Trocadero. It was in such a great location for Paris, a walk away from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph and Champs Elysees. It really was great value for money. We received amazing service from Kathy and Marie.

We arrived at Gare du Nord and it cost around 20 Euro to get there by taxi. It cost around 30 Euro to go back to Gare du Nord by taxi.

Positives:
+ Friendly correspondence ahead of time regarding our stay. We needed a bit of extra space because we had our 6 month baby with us. It was pleasant to speak to Marie on phone and by email to confirm our requirements.
+ Excellent service from Kathy, she was able to secure us a reservation for the Eiffel Tower restaurant at very short notice. She also cheerfully answered our question for various activies we
+ We had a superior double room which was perfect for a couple and a baby.
+ Lots of food options nearby with restaurants and supermarkets. The biggest supermarket Casino was a 5 to 10 minute walk while Carrefour City Express was no more than 5 minutes away. There were some great restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk too. We enjoyed the little bakery out front where we would get our morning croissants and the world's best cappucino (self awarded by the lady working in that shop)!
+ Excellent metro connections, where you could catch the metro from Trocadero station, Boissière for line 6 or Victor Hugo for line 2.
+ Excellent baby cot provided.
+ Free Wifi.
+ As we were leaving and on our way in the taxi, the hotel staff quickly checked our room if we had left anything behind and we had. They promptly called the taxi company and were were able to u-turn to get our things back. That was really impressive.

Negatives:
- The lift was a little squashy but this I think is not different to many of the lifts in Paris. It was very difficult to squeeze in my wife, our baby and stroller as well as me in the lift, and we're not overly big people. I normally let them go up and used the stairs. The corridors were quite narrow too. Again, space is quite limited in Paris so this is not an issue limited to this hotel.
- Again, not a restriction to just this hotel, but a rule in Paris, hotels are not allowed to have kettles available in the rooms. This is of importance when you have a baby. However, staff were happy to bring up boiling water when we requested it. Good to know for those travelling with babies.

We would stay here again next time in Paris and be happy to recommend to our friends too.

Room Tip: Give the hotel a call ahead of time to see if you can negotiate a better rate. They're very hap...

Would highly recommend this hotel! Very clean rooms and the staff is simply amazing. The front desk goes out of their way to accommodate the guests. Were we in Paris? The neighborhood is very nice and the location is great. Robes and slippers in the rooms make a nice touch. We will be back again.

We chose to stay here for 2 nights having stayed here last year. The hotel has changed a little I think. One new thing is that they now charge 100€ as a guarantee if you use the mini bar. There are also now slippers provided! But I didn't use them in case there was a charge - the mini bar and snacks are very expensive! I booked a Superior room, but I think we may have got a Classic room? As the facilities were different to the last Superior room we stayed in... The service in the hotel is wonderful, Cathy the receptionist is very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our first stay, which is why we decided to go back, and I'd be happy to return if I have the chance to go back to Paris again. There isn't any hotel parking, so you will need to use a local car park. The nearest one was 32€ per day.

Not sure that we can add much to the really good reviews about this hotel already, however, we felt strongly that leaving a review (we have never done so before) was the least we could do. The staff really could not have been more helpful, the room was comfortable and the location is first rate. Would definitely stay again and can only highly recommend.
