“Great hotel, pity about the temperature in the rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

We booked for a week but are leaving after 4 nights as the hotel switched off the room air conditioning for the "winter". Sure, it's 25 degrees outside with high humidity and I'm lying in bed with the window wide open sweating like a pig, but the hotel reception have said for the last two nights that they are now heating the rooms as it is "cold".

I pointed out the lobby is nice and fresh but the bedroom is about 10 degrees hotter but they said the hotel policy is to disconnect the cooling feature of the reverse cycle system giving is the option of heat, or blow te hot air around.

Very strange for a hotel with thermostats in each room and reverse cycle systems..

Anybody who values their room temperature in the evening to be below 25 degrees, this is NOT your hotel.

Room was clean tidy had everything we needed. It was very small, bathroom was tiny but we didn't expect too much and knew we wouldn't be in the room much.

Overall a good hotel, nice reception area decent breakfast and free wifi is handy also.

Location was not bad as well very close to the metro station and there was some nice cafes and restaurants around.

Would recommend if your just looking for somewhere to dump the bags and see the sites.

I have been to Paris many times but wanted to experience the trendy Marais area which is why I chose this hotel. The hotel is modern with a spacious reception area manned by great staff, who speak a range of languages, The check in policy means we were in our rooms as soon as we arrived (at about noon) and they have secure lockers for your bags if you have time to spare at the end of the stay. They are coin operated and the medium size cost 3 euros and had plenty of room for hand luggage size cases and extras for three people. There is free wifi in the hotel but there are also computers for guests in part of the reception and also universal points there to plug in your own machine and recharge the battery.
The rooms are compact, as is usual in most cities, but really well planned with a comfortable bed, great pillows, and good bedding. There is not a lot of storage space-enough for a few days- but cases fit under the bed and you might need to leave some things in them if you were having a longer stay. Bath room was small but had a good size shower, and an opening window for ventilation and light. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean.
We paid to have the breakfast included and were glad because it was such good value, great choice including breads, croissantes, cereals, fruit, cheese, ham, yoghurts, pancakes and frittata and is kept replenished. A lot of business people seem to stay here so the restaurant empties by about 8.45. Even when busy we could get a table easily. We also tried the fixed price lunch a few times at about 9 euros for 2 courses, there was limited choice but was really good especially as we were able to sit outside on the terrace. The more expensive 15 euro menu was 3 courses and attracted a lot of locals on Saturday and Sunday. Wine and coffee reasonably priced.Half litre of house was 9 euros.
We booked direct with the hotel as there prices were best and paid 524 euros for 2 people for 4 nights bed and breakfast, incredible value.
If you are arriving at CDG airport take the train to gare du nord and the orange line 5 to Breguet-Sabin station which is just round the corner. The journey is about 10 minutes and the trains are about every 4 minutes. Bastille station has more lines but is about 10 minutes walk.
There is a building site nearby, but nothing happens at weekend and machinery doesn't start until 8 and finishes about 4.30.

We stay at this hotel every time we come to Paris and it does the job. There's a bar, restaurant, good reception staff who will let you try out your French but use English when necessary(!), and simple en-suite rooms. The rooms can vary in size and quality. If you overlook the internal service yard / extractor fans / building site next door, don't try to sleep with the window open. It is very noisy in the morning. Overall, the location is great and you can walk everywhere from the hotel. There are a few good bars and restaurants on the doorstep or you can take the Metro easily from the end of the street. I'll stay here again.

I was looking for a most affordable reliable chain hotel closest to the centre. This was the most affordable under 100 euro hotel closest to 1ere arrondissement. 7 minute walk from Opera de la Bastille Metro stop. So it is only a few metro stops to the centre. It is your standard Ibis Hotel you can rely on. There is free wifi in the room. Parking is available. Rooms are clean and front desk is helpful. There are also many restaurants to choose from at the Opera intersection. This will be my Paris hotel whenever I go back

Clean and well located but noisy: there is no sound-proofing what so ever - you hear EVERYTHING from other rooms, corridors etc. And there is nothing extra: you even have to pay 4 euros for leaving your luggage for a few hours after check-out !

The hotel a bit hard to find but in a very good neighborhood. There is no indications on how to get there so look it up on the map very good before going. This part of the Marais has a lot of cafes and restaurants. In front of the hotel there is a boulangerie where we bought great croissants, macarons etc. Near there is also a supermarket. Sundays very near there is big market which had a lot of great products and also allowed us to see the Parisian way of living better.

Very close is the Breguet-Sabin metro station but I would recommend walking five more minutes to the Bastille station which is a direct line to all the big attractions.

We had a room on the upper floors facing some building under construction, but this didn't bother us at all because there was no noise or dust in the room. The room itself was very very small, but clean. For the price we paid for the room, in such good neighborhood we expected somehow this kind of small room.

The staff was very discreet and helpful, with decent English. We didn't try the hotel restaurant.

I would go there again if to go to Paris, mainly because of the good price for such good location.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street would be a better choice now because on the other side there is a building u...
