“Charm and great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Small hotel between the Latin Quarter and St Germain de Pres. Walk to everything, fabulous restaurants, shops, night life, Notre Dame, and the Seine. The rooms are small but charming and well decorated. We would definitely stay there again.

Hotel Clement is very well situated in the Latin Quarter. The street is quiet at night an important feature in Paris. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was small but not cramped and they are currently doing some renovations that will spruce up the appearance. That would be my main criticism. The hotel's appearance did not match the website photos. I believe and hope this will change when the rents are finished. A bonus is the breakfast room. Always a plus in the morning.

Room Tip: Request a room like the ones posted on their website and not too high up as the elevator is extremel...

Personally, I'd stay here again. The positives: Charming, clean, old hotel, loved the very small elevator, made me really feel like I was in Paris! Everyone at front desk was helpful when needed. Lobby area was charming, comfy, good place for us to meet up with friends (they were comfy while waiting for us who were always late lol). Used the safe in room. Best of all, especially for price, walking distance to so very many sights, and to three metros for when that was needed. Numerous wonderful cafes, restaurants, shops.

Down sides - noise was main one. I'm always a very light sleeper so sleep with earplugs and was fine, but a friend is not able to, and he was awake at 5AM every morning from the garbage collectors and street sweepers. Even sometimes in the wee hrs. of morning from those still dining/drinking at nearby restaurants. Also, while it was ok for me, I know some who would dislike that in the larger rooms, the showerheads are hand held ones. Finally, there is a sizable homeless population nearby, staying under the overhang of the shopping center on the adjacent streets. We never once experienced anyone being aggressive tho'. And the hotel itself was VERY secure.

If noise is an issue, bring earplugs, and perhaps request a room in the back, but if you're unable to use earplugs know that even then, walls are thin and you'll hear your neighbors.

Stayed for 3 nights in May. Great location, very central to most major sites (Notre dame/louvre/eiffel tower etc). Mabillon station 50m walk away. Good selection of restaurants in the area. Room and bathroom were very small but tidy enough for a short stay when you are out most of the day. Reception staff were helpful with requests.

Clean small rooms. What else do you need...well maybe a touch noisy down below on a Saturday night if you want the windows open. It was too early for the air conditioning in mid-April with temps near 25...it gets stuffy unless you can open a window. Otherwise this is a sweet hotel, great value and friendly workers. Our large group was permitted to congregate in the small lobby and it was so much appreciated.

Room Tip: I would recommend rooms NOT on the street side due to the noisy from the restaurants on ground level...

We love the location of Hotel Le Clement. Every time we check other hotels for location , price and rooms we're never as happy as we are here. We stayed for 8 nights in Fall, 2012 and will stay again Fall, 2013. Our room facing the St Germain market on the 5th floor had a great view of the street and St Sulpice church in the background. It was very small and very charmingly decorated. The bathroom had a great shower stall. I recommend a larger room, but they don't have shower stalls, and you're never sure what the bathing accommodation will be. We never have breakfast at the hotel, our preference is Paul's, a bakery/restaurant at the corner of Rue de Seine and Rue de Buci. We love the baguettes and croissants as well as the eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice. The front desk staff has become more pleasant and accommodating each time we stay. The price is a big selling point, but it's actually a perfect location in the St Germain , 6e of Paris. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well-cared for and air-conditioned. We will never stay anywhere else in Paris if Le Clement is available.

Room Tip: Ask for a front-facing room on a high floor

I spent 3 nights there. I had stayed here several times years ago. I still like it for its location, quiet rooms, nice staff, comfortable lobby, free lobby. Rooms tend to be small as it is an old building.
