We had the pleasure of staying at the Saint Paul for a week at the end of August. This is a small boutique hotel (31 rooms) in a 400 year old building so every room is unique and different, although the bathrooms are modern and up to date. The rooms are super clean and show the good care the owners take with this hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance to Notre Dame and Luxemburg Gardens and it is close to Metro and major RER lines. The rooms are all air conditioned and the air conditioning was so quiet we didn't know it was really on!
The hotel is on a side street and is very quiet at night. There is a small lift in case you don't like taking the stairs.
Breakfasts are served in a great underground stone "cave"--you can literally feel the history of this building! Breakfasts were great with fresh croissants and bread, cheeses, yogurts, eggs--as much as you could want.
Staff was very friendly and helpful---no snooty French here!! They gave us great recommendations for local inexpensive restaurants and were always available for directions and suggestions.
And an added bonus---directly across the street was a self laundry so no more wet clothes hanging in the bathroom. This is especially nice if you are planning on traveling for a while.
Queen bed was not your typical 2 twins pushed together with a lump in the middle but rather was a very comfortable queen mattress.
This was a great find and we do not hesitate to highly recommend it!

Some have four-poster beds; another has a ceiling with little twinkling lights and a Jacuzzi and, more, a still life deception. All the rooms have air-conditioning.The buffet breakfast is served in a delightful vaulted cellar containing an original well. The patio next to reception and situated on the lie of the ancient Philippe Auguste defensive wall, contains a tiny flowered garden, furnished with impressive Anduzian vases. ... more less
