“Rooms don't match reception area”

Quite an impressive reception, restaurant and bar area but the rooms are basic. Expensive for what it is but then most of Paris is. Good location but the shopping centre is still a building site. Ate in bar and food was pretty good.

Novotel Paris Les Halles is a great place to stay if you are the kind of traveler that treats a hotel as simply a place to stay.

The location of the hotel is fantastic for a tourist that is comfortable with using the metro system. There are several stops in very close proximity, with the Les Halles stop right around the corner. It should be noted that one of the stops is being created / renovated right in front of the hotel, so there is a large construction site there in front through 2015. When we were there, we did not experience any noise from the construction. The construction site does make the hotel a little difficult to locate though.

The staff here are friendly and helpful, if overburdened. They often did not have enough staff to help guests without a decent wait. Concierge type service is not great: We had several occasions where we asked them to help to make a reservation, and they got us the number and told us to call the restaurant. We had another occasion where they said they made a reservation, and when we arrived we found that this was not the case, since the restaurant was first come first serve.

The hotel has a parking lot discount at a location a block or two away, but trying to get them to valet your car is a bit of a challenge as there is (1) no where to pull up in front of the hotel and (2) no doorman that would see you. You have to pull up on the street, walk a short block into the hotel to get a valet.

There are several great places to eat right in the neighborhood as well (the amazing Jean Noel Julien Boulangerie for pastries, and l'Auberge du Louvre for fondue and raclette come to mind)

Overall, I recommend the hotel for its great location, and the decent rate that we got considering was a very short walk to the Louvre.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the courtyard are likely quieter, though the view is just of the rest of the buildin...

As mentioned in other reviews, the location of the hotel is close to many tourist spots and there are numerous shops, cafes, bars, restaurants within easy walking distance. Yes, there is construction all around the hotel but it is still quiet in the evening until at least 8am. The room is good size, modern with free Wi Fi, coffee maker, large safe & stocked mini bar. Flat screen TV only has News for the English channels which is quite unacceptable. Shower is very good with plenty of hot water at a good pressure. Housekeeping staff will sometimes enter your room WITHOUT knocking. The door to enter the room is very difficult to open all the way due to being spring loaded. The main lobby has a heavy perfume smell, perhaps potpourri or some other heavy scent and is immediately noticeable upon entry.

Great location, walking distance to louvre and other sites, nice location with lots of little shops in the vicinity. The hotel is large, and the rooms are fairly spacious for Paris. There is construction next door going on during the day which means you need to walk your bags to front of hotel, but that is less than 50 meters.

Room Tip: maybe on the other side of the construction

The Novotel Paris Les Halles is a standard chain hotel offering, but excellently located for central districts of Paris.

The room was clean and fresh, with a decent shower.

Free coffee making facility and wifi a welcome bonus.

Food in the restaurant/bar was reasonable, but not over-priced. Nothing special however but at least did not feel ripped off.

Staff generally friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Great location in central Paris, easy to access on Metro one stop away from Gare du Nord Eurostar station.

Clean, modern, excellent staff. Great breakfast for the whole family. We fit two small children and a baby into an apartment with a double bed and a sofa bed, they provided the cot. Smallish bathroom but very modern and clean.

220 euros for the room including breakfast represents fantastic value in central Paris. The only minor concern is that they still have smoking rooms (and we got one as it was the only one available) - but that's Europe for you.
