“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

I was staying in this hotel with my mum and little sister for about 4 nights. What we really appreciated was the location. It is really perfect, everything is walking distance or just a few stops by subway. I'd recommend getting here by bys from CDG airport as the subway doesn't have escalators thus it's a bit more difficult with suitcases. The bus stops by Opéra and it is walking distance (about 10 mins. with a suitcase) from the hotel so when you're arriving during the day and you have a suitcase with wheels, this is the best option. There is a little Carrefour just around the corner, plenty of restaurants and a subway station about 1 min. walk from the hotel. Even though we didn't really spend time in the room I must say it was nice and clean, no cockroaches. I guess you won't find a better place in the city centre for this amount of money.

This was our first night in Paris we were very tired from the 14 hour flight.
We checked in 2 hours early and the room was made available earlier however it was small and uncomfortable with quite a few stairs to access the lift.
The room was old and faded with a small fan no coffee or tea making. The bed was comfortable but I would have slept on floor boards with a pillow ! Pillows could hardly be called pillows . Breakfast was overpriced at €20 for croissants, coffee and orange juice.
Overall an uncomfortable awkward stay- if you've arrived book a good hotel it's worth the extra cost!

I stayed at the lovely Hotel Chopin for nine nights just after Christmas. The Chopin is perfect in every way! The historic building is simply charming, with a cozy lobby (with free wifi) and a pretty little breakfast room. Hotel staff are so welcoming and helpful, giving great directions and advice about restaurants, local shops, the best metro routes, etc. All speak excellent English.

I stayed in a “deluxe single” room on the fourth floor, which was very cozy, quiet, bright and pretty, with a lovely view of Parisian rooftops. The bathroom was modern and spacious, with a large window. My room was spotlessly clean and included a comfortable double bed, flat screen tv, a large wardrobe, small writing desk and chair – truly spacious for a single room by European standards. I enjoyed breakfast every morning – it is a bargain at just 7.5 euros, with delicious baguette, croissant, gorgeous French butter, jams, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, freshly squeezed orange juice and more. I enjoyed chatting with the other guests (who came mostly from France and other parts of Europe) over breakfast.

Hotel Chopin’s location can’t be beat. Step into the Passage Jouffroy and you are transported into another era! It is simply beautiful, with charming shops. There is a large Carrefour grocery just around the corner, so convenient for picking up any snacks, bottled water, wine, picnic supplies. So many of Paris’ top attractions are within an easy walk – the Louvre, the Opera, Notre Dame, the Left Bank and much more can easily be reached on foot. Walk to the corner and you can even see Sacre Coeur! There is a metro stop steps from the entrance of Passage Jouffroy, and a couple others within a few minutes’ walk, making getting around Paris a breeze.

Hotel Chopin will always be my home away from home in Paris.

This hotel was Our first stop after a 14 hour flight from Australia, the lady at the desk managed to get our rooms early (1030) which was fantastic. What looks in the lobby as a cute hotel, with some old charm, dissipated when we entered the rooms. The rooms just felt like a 'pay by the hour' hotel. The bathroom stunk and over all was just past it's used by date (1920). The next day we had breakfast- basic in a tiny room but nice and the coffee strong. The new desk lady was not so helpful she was actually unhelpful and gave me the wrong directions to a taxi rank instead of just calling one. After my son and I dragged 3 suitcases to the rank a stranger approached with the same problem and was wondering whether to just hail one the next day or just be firm about ordering a cab. I suggested maybe being firm works than being overly polite. I think this maybe the case in some situations with people. Would I go back to this hotel- no. I'm not sure if it was just our rooms 406 and 407 but they weren't worth the view.

It is very easy to get to from the Metro. You get off at the Grand Bouelard stop. walk about 5 min. The hotel is at the end of what I call a hall. The street name is at the top of the hall, opposite side of the Metro stop. Many shops, restaurants, shopping in area. Money exchange both ways from hall. If you go right, about 5 min walk on opposite side. The other one is about 15 min walk to big store, right about 5 min walk. Small grocery stores in area also. Breakfast(7.5E) has good variety for European style one. Within 15-20 metro ride to louve. Took taxi badk(6.6E) Same for taxi ride to Eiffel tower. Went thru tunnel where Princess Di was killed. I tried to buy skip line tickets for Eiffel from web site, but most times gone when I tried. Ended up doing a tour which included, trip to top. Worth it. Did a Seine trip during day. OK. Heard a night one was better. we flew out of Orly and taxi was(42E).

Wonderful hotel located in historic Passage Jouffrey in the 9th arrondisement (but right next to the 2nd). The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. The location is excellent - close in and right by a metro stop, but very quiet. There are several excellent restaurants close by. The bath in the room had just been remodeled and was very comfortable. The room was large and comfortable. I plan to go go back.

Room Tip: Large one bedroom 403 was lovely!
