“A complete wow experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2011

We are just finishing our stay at this remarkable new hotel, and we have no doubt it will take it's rightful place as the premier luxury hotel in Paris. This extraordinary oasis is simply divine, and Trip Advisor needs to consider a new scale to measure it because this hotel is a "10"!

The service is a wow from the very first moment if arrival. The bellmen are friendly and kind, and knowledgeable as well, as are all the staff of the hotel. By the second, the entire staff greets you by name, and everyone works hard to go out of their way to please. The concierge is outstanding and very accommodating. We cannot say enough good things about the staff, from housekeeping to the restaurants to the reception and concierge desks, this hotel is as buttoned up and meticulous as can be.

The breakfast, which is the only meal we ate in the hotel is excellent, simple, delicious, and beatifuly prepared. The restaurant itself has the most peaceful and exquisite ambience. The hotel itself is a bit off the beaten path, in a more elegant and less touristy neighborhood, but a short 10 or 15 minute walk from the Champs Élysées or Avenue Montaigne. Great cafes and brasseries in the neighborhood as well, just a few short blocks away.

Oh, did we mention the room, the spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower, the cool smooth sheets and duvet on the delicious bed, and the wonderful surprise of the radiant bathroom floors. Eve the water pressure is fantastic. It's the simple things that make a hotel stay special, and at the Shangri-la Paris, these simple things do indeed add up to a magical experience. We will most certainly return.

The new Shangri-La Paris is not meant to be a "value" but rather an indulgence. The former residence of Napoleon's grand nephew it's like a brand-new museum. The recently completed 4-year renovation wows from the entry and never stops. The staff are superb, the restaurant sumptuous and the rooms heavenly -- I didn't want to turn the lights out at night, in case I woke up, I wanted to see it again!

A tour of the public meeting rooms on the first floor (2nd floor for Americans) was like stepping back in time. And the free internet was wonderfully unexpected where luxury hotels typically feel the need to pickpocket their well-heeled guests (€20 at Four Seasons).

Room Tip: Every room is the best room.

The staff could not have been warmer. The Shangri-La style of service was fantastic: gracious and humble with a caring heart. I was genuinely conviced that they all really cared for us during and after our stay.

Our suite was amazing. Every detail was thought of, even the heated stone floors in the bathroom. The most amazing feature after the service was the Incredible view of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River. Our panaramic view of Paris was like no other. I was amazed to see how many terraces directly faced the Eiffel Tower. This is the best view of Paris.

I would highly recommend experiencing this hotel. If staying at another hotel, go visit this one. I guarantee that you will wish you stayed here at the former residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte. There is such a special feeling here.

I also recommend experiencing the restaurant La Bauhinia. It is a gastronomic adventure, as Shangri-La restaurants are known to be. Explore the property and find the three fireplace rooms that make up the lounge, or seek out the piano bar. For a hotel with less than 100 rooms/suites, it has a lot to offer. Location wise, this is also a true Parisian experience. Live and dine among the locals in style...

My husband and I recently stayed in the new Shangri-La hotel and had an amazing experience. The hotel and rooms are top notch with stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. The staff was friendly and could not have been more helpful. We discovered the hotel through this article (http://www.bonjourparis.com/story/shangri-la-buzz/) on Bonjour Paris. This website was extremely helpful and gave us some insight into restaurants and things to do while in Paris.

Although the hotel was expensive, we were there to celebrate our anniversary and I will say that it was an incredible experience and worth every dime. I can only hope that we are fortunate enough to stay at the Shangri-La again one day.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff couldn't have done more to be helpful, particularly Tony @ concierge. Our room was perfect with incredible views of the Eiffel Tower directly outside the window. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is so beautiful, the location is great with a wonderful view of the Eiffel tower from our room.

The staff treats you like a VIP and greet you by name. Linda Leveque from Guest Relations is absolutely professionell and really cares about you.

The best hotel in Paris.

The only negative thing are the room rates. But you get a perfect room with wonderful beds.

Haven't checked out yet and don't want to! This place is just the beez neez. Move over FS George V, this new beautiful hotel in the heart of Paris is everything and more than you would expect. Exceptional service, exquisite finishes and AMAZING staff. Nothing is too much trouble here at the Shangri-La. Travelled through 40 countries and this hotel is without a doubt a six star rating. Incredible rooms, great food, outstanding concierge, fantastic housekeeping - I could go on and on. Truly a new benchmark in Paris and definitely for the Shangri-La group. Imagine being addressed by every single staff member by your name - don't know how they do it! Beautifully dressed team. Hope to see many more of these in new locations around the globe. Thank you everyone for making our stay so memorable. Make it a place you visit. Our 7 day stay worth every dollar!
