“A GREAT HOTEL!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We stayed in the hotel for 6 nights early November, during our 1st visit in Paris for our honey moon.
The staff was very helpful and polite during our stay.
The room was very clean, relatively large (in comparison to most hotel rooms in Paris), beautifully decorated, with a fully renovated large bathroom.
The location was excellent since there were 2 metro stations nearby and the neighborhood was really quiet.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and we look forward to revisiting it!

Stayed at this Hotel for 5 nights for my Honeymoon, which they left a sweet present for us.
- great location: around 5 mins close to a few local train stations
& it was fantastic there was even a convenient store across the road.
- friendly staff, that gave us direction to the local post office & which train station was best to get to the Louvre
- Also excellent customer service, when they delivered a parcel for me back to Australia.
(Didn't have time to go to the post office)
- cleaners did a great job cleaning the rooms each day
- also Free wifi !!
Highly recommend this hotel.

This is no 2 star hotel, that's for sure. What a charming, comfortable absolutely wonderful place it is! And what a bargain. Sparkling clean rooms, the location can't be beat; and the kindly, attentive staff made us feel like friends. In a residential area that is peaceful and quiet at night, yet right near the metro, we had a sweet courtyard view and a stay full of memories we will always treasure. This fabulous find is proof that you can save money, not just without compromise, but with a far superior experience than if you'd arranged a stay at a sad, plastic tourist trap.
There are many ways to save on your trip to France, if you are creative. First, don't pay extra to your bank at home for Euros (around 8%), when you can use the ubiquitous ATM's or even the currency exchange centers in France itself. Traveler's cheques are surprisingly not widely accepted. On your flight out to Paris, instead of paying a fortune to park in the airport lot and have heaven-only-knows what happen to your car, I've let anyone who will stand still long enough know how fantastic park and fly packages are , and that my favorite site for them is Stay123. Your tickets will cost 3x less at the beginning of the year than at the height of the season, and you'll avoid the tourist throng. If you don't mind a little inconvenience, a non-direct flight will also save you a few hundred dollars.
Make sure to drink the tap water - Parisians do, and you can observe them ordering a carafe of it at the finest restaurants. Bottled water costs about twice as much as a superb house Bordeaux (really?), so that's another option. If you want to eat at one of those fine French restaurants, but feel a little vertigo when you see the cost, don't despair! Paris restaurants have fantastic fixed price luncheon menus. At one Michelin starred restaurant, the prix fixe luncheon option was little more than half of the cost of their dinner, for the same unforgettable food. Look for the "wifi gratuit" sign in cafes, also available in public parks and libraries, and avoid the exorbitant hotel charges for telephone usage altogether by arranging an economy plan with your cellphone carrier for usage in France before you leave the U.S.
But, most of all, be good to yourself and arrange to stay at the truly wonderful New Orient Hotel.

Room Tip: If you want to pay more for a balcony, go right ahead, but you couldn't be happier with their le...

I had found this place online and had no direct reviews - so it was a complete risk...but we could not have been HAPPIER! The staff was friendly and helpful - since this was our first time in Paris we needed alot of advice on where to go. At one point, we wanted to take a "midnight stroll" and the desk assistant would not let us walk down any dark alleys for our safety! When we walked into our room for the first time - my heart skipped a beat - it was so CLEAN and very charming. PERFECT for our last 2 nights of our honeymoon. When the owners found out it was our honeymoon they immediately gave us a gift! SO UNEXPECTED!

I did not feel it was a 2 star hotel--
- Very friendly and helpful-- They are not snobby and they make sure they attend to your queries. We almost had to extend because of the news about the flood in venice and they pencil booked us already for the ff nights. They also gave a good restaurant recommendation. And when we had to leave early, they helped us have breakfast.
- Room - Very charming! You will really feel you are in Paris because of their window. Although room is not so big, it is cozy and just right :)
- Accessibility - It is near 2 metro stations. It's also not so far away from Gare St. Lazare, a major hub.
It really deserves the trip advisor award. :)

In the world capital of 2 star hotels, the New Orient must be one of the best. On past visits to Paris I/we have stayed on the left bank, generally as close to Boulevard St. Germain as cost dictates. This time, on my own, I deliberately stayed on the other side of the river in a part of town that I was not familiar with. I was not disappointed.

The New Orient is a bright little establishment close to both Villiers and Rome Metro stops and barely 1km from Saint Lazare station. The Opera district is in close proximity and in the other direction the charms of Montmatre; an area I was delighted to re-visit after a gap of nearly 12 years. Paris is compact and easy to get around so where you actually stay is not always that vital. This however, is a good spot.

The Hotel was clean and well appointed for a 2 star establishment, the staff friendly and helpful. The room was small (it is Paris after all) but all the amenities were present, including free wi-fi and several digital TV channels (other Hoteliers please note). It was quiet and breakfast perfectly fine.

All in all, very happy to recommend and thanks to my fellow contributors who steered me in this direction. Very tempted to rank the hotel as Excellent but certainly very good +. You will not be disappointed, particularly if you a bit of a Francophile like me.

Room Tip: I was at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. However, the main road (Rue de Constantinople...

Yes it's a lovely hotel, welcoming, clean and charming in all respects. We were looking forward to sitting on the balcony of our room but unfortunately we were on the fourth floor and we both felt a little peculiar sitting up there so we sat at the window and took in the Parisienne air and architecture. Breakfast was unremarkable and cost 8 euros each but there is a small supermarket opposite where you can get all your food and drink needs. The location is central however we found it hard to find a decent restaurant nearby and would frankly prefer to have been closer to the centre of Paris. A lovely stay but not one we will be repeating.
