“We were tempted to keep this one to ourselves...!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

What a fabulous hotel, in a very convenient location and looking over the beautiful canal, with all its fascinating comings and goings. Perfect for a family weekend, with friendly, helpful staff who all speak good English and are happy to share their wide local knowledge. Rooms were spotless, and the layout was original, practical and thoughtful. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future...

Room Tip: All rooms look over the canal, higher floors a little quieter

Stylish and personal little hotel in lovely part of Paris ... very friendly and knowledgeable staff: Eric and John were especially helpful and recommended charming and delicious small neighborhood restaurants ... just the type Americans hope to find in Paris. The standard rooms are quite small but the bed is very comfortable and the shower strong and hot.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in late May-early June for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The small staff (could they be the owners also?) were incredibly charming, attentive, knowledgable, and helpful. Service was top-rate and our room, by Paris standards, was very large. Breakfasts are ample and everything is homemade, including the yogurts and jams for the bread! There is an evening happy hour with nice wines as well. Patrick and Eric in particular with super helpful in recommending restaurants, shopping, etc., and they booked several tables for us at excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. We will most definitely stay here again!

As a woman travelling alone I appreciate comfort, safety, quality, kindness and this little jewel provides all...and comes with never ending excellent personal service of the staff/owners.
I travel a lot and I was very impressed!
Fabulous comfortable beds , fabulous rainforest bathroom, fabulous breakfast and all at a highly competitive price.
The hotel is within a brisk 15 minute walk of Gare du Nord , which is of course perfect for the Londoners! To the south another 10 minute brisk walk is Republique and the exquisite Place des Vosges.
I will be back!

Room Tip: all rooms overlook a busy city street , so if you are a light sleeper this hotel may not be your bes...

The hotel is amazing, with only 12 suits it allows you to get to know the staff, who treat you like family, and other people staying in the hotel if you want. As a solo 20 year old female I was slightly hesitant about my stay in Paris, however upon receiving such a warm welcome at the hotel I felt like I was at home. It's location is amazing, one can walk to the louvre and Norte dame as well as many boutique stores and restaurants. Breakfast and the mini bar are included in the extremely affordable price as well as drinks at 6-7 pm. The rooms are clean and stylish, with a lovely view of the canal. This hotel deserves all the praise it gets and then some!

I booked this hotel based on all of the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor and it was a wonderful choice for our four-night stay in Paris in December 2012. The hotel is small and situated on the Canal St. Martin which is outside of the busy center of Paris. We were totally fine with this and really enjoyed the canal area with its own bustling shops and restaurants. The metro station was only a few blocks walk which made getting around Paris very convenient. The staff was all extremely friendly and eager to share their recommendations about places to eat or things to see in Paris. The hotel offered a complimentary happy hour every night that included a glass of wine and various cheeses and fruit. The breakfast each morning was also included and offered an impressive spread of pastries, cheese, fruit and eggs as requested.

Also, prior to arriving, the staff was very quick to respond to all of my emails and helped us arrange a private transfer to/from the airport as well as make dinner reservations for us. The complimentary iPad was also very helpful to read about local restaurants and get directions. We didn't end up taking it out of the hotel, but it was nice to use for local research.

We stayed in one of the "City" rooms which was small but well appointed. The bed was very comfortable but there was really minimal room to move around. This was fine, as we really only were in our room to sleep so this didn't bother us. My only complaint is that we were in Room 3, and it was right next to the elevator which had an automated voice that announced which floor it was on as it moved between floors. Every time the elevator would stop you could hear the voice through the walls. Not a major complaint but it was a bit tiring to listen to after a few nights.

Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we were in Paris.
