“Wonderful atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Loved walking around the Saint Germain area, the art galleries and shops are so interesting. Also wonderful pastries and all sorts of great cafes. Sat in a lovely little park where the park benches are made from sculptured books - amazing.

This is one delicious and visually beautiful neighborhood. it's so unforgettable as everything is a unique find, the small arched hidden spaces as well as the people watching in every cafe.

“Very central but fairly governmental”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We styed in this area, near the Musee d'Orsay. There are a lot of antique shops and you are very near the Seine. It is easy to get anywhere else on the Metro - we went in the evenings to the Sorbonne area and to the Marais. We loved walking down the Rue Jacob. The pastry shop on the corner of St. God!!

“What a lovely neighborhood!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

St. Germain is the most expensive neighborhood in Paris for residents, and it shows. It has all the beautiful features that make Paris memorable, with none of the trash. It also has some beautiful and historically important churches, like St. Sulpice and St. Germain.

“I can walk forever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

If you are a people watcher, a celebrity -spotter, window shopper, foodie, history buff, literary nut, old hippie, or are on the leading edge of all things cool, this should be your Paris stomping ground. In the morning, take your breakfast at the bold name cafes or right down Rue Buci while the morning market is in full swing. Wander in and out of every type of small shop, then settle down for some serious people watching (along with some freebie street entertainment) and figure out how to explain missing your plane back home. Choices for fantastic dining in all price ranges make this an area that you should spend many hours exploring.
