“Staff and decor make this Hotel a "must stay"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

When you first arrive at La Belle Juliette you cannot help but be impressed by the greeting from the reception staff. The rooms are great, the building is well located for walking to great restaurants, shops and attractions in Paris. The Hotel even bothered to inform us that building works were taking place next door and that work would commence at 8am. This gave us the chance to change hotels if we wanted to. I don't think too many other hotels would do this. That kind of honesty should be rewarded so we kept our booking there. Even though we checked out in the morning, our flight was not until 9.30 that night and we were not only allowed to leave our bags there but were encouraged to shower and freshen up before heading to the airport. I would definitely recommend this Hotel and my wife and I will definitely stay again on our next visit to Paris.

Room Tip: choose a better than standard room if you want a bit more space. Its worthwhile.

The hotel itself was well decorated by fashionable ArtDecoration style (such as pink colored "antique furniture"...) supplemented by iPad with large screen in each room, but the lights in the corridors were intentionally dark. The receptionists were diverse, pleasant but some ladies had problem to call cabs. It will require further training.

The construction site in the neighbourhood was not any problem.

Soon it might be a good choice.

Room Tip: The further from construction site the better

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for your comments about your stay at La Belle Juliette. We were delighted to hear that you liked our establishment, especially the decor.
Regarding your difficulties with booking a taxi, unfortunately this is a recurring problem throughout Paris and outside of our control. The supply of taxis are deliberately limited; it is not related to our staff.
We hope to welcome you again to the Hotel and Spa La Belle Juliette during your next visit to Paris.
Sincerely,
Eric Bourquin,
General Manager

I recently visited Paris to attend a conference as well as enjoy a few days off. My traveling partner booked the hotel. It is now one of my favorite hotels in Europe. Upon check-in we were upgraded 2 levels and treated to a personal tour of the room and the entire facility. The rooms are tiny but luxuriously designed and decorated with everything you need. I didn't want to leave the room! The bed was comfortable. The bathroom fixtures are a part of the room and all modern and stylistic. The breakfast is continental but includes Paris' best breads and teas. Downstairs there is a small pool/jacuzzi in a modern colorful grotto. Here is the BEST part: the staff who go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. Most staff are handsome homo's who know Paris and the local area well. They provided phenomenal dining recommendations. They even go beyond what reception staff do--one female front desk clerk pushed a local tour operator to find my lost jacket left on the tour bus. After nearly 30 minutes of calls and prodding--she got the tour company to locate my missing jacket. And on our last night as we headed up stairs, one male front desk clerk run up after us to inquire if we had a taxi reservation for the next morning. (it is a challenge to obtain cabs in Paris as there seems to be no free market). Wow, imagine staff that contemplate and are considerate! The staff here are BETTER than the Four Seasons Hotel by far! Would I stay here again? Yes definitely! I would stay at the boutique chain's other 5 hotels scattered throughout Paris too!

We stayed for five nights for a belated honeymoon and loved every minute. The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely; French and modern at the same time. The bed was very comfortable and the AC was a fantastic relief from the summer heat. And the neighborhood was a nice, neighborhood-y and chic relief from the crowds closer to the Seine. We loved it and will definitely return if and when we return to Paris. As for the construction noise, we had seen the comments about it before we went and we were nervous about it. But our room was on the north/construction side of the building and even though we heard some noise, it didn't keep us from sleeping in till 10am! Thank you (Merci!), La Belle Juliette for a lovely, memorable stay.

I booked the hotel for a weekend in Paris for my husbands 40th based on Trip advisor reviews and it didn't disappoint. It is in a great location in St Germain and within easy walking distance to a lot of the main tourist attractions and the metro. The service was excellent from start to finish with the staff being very friendly and happy to share their knowledge of Paris - both nights we ate at restaurants they had recommended. As you would expect for a capital city hotel, the space is on the small side with the restaurant and bar area being quite intimate and the bedroom we stayed in was 'compact' but this didn't detract from our stay - highly recommended!

I have to agree with pretty much everything said by 'Beck312'! We weren't so able to afford the Superior room and had the Standard but the level of luxury to us was brilliant. We want the massage shower at home! The room was fitted out very tastefully and cleverly to utilise the limited space. The staff were brilliant and extremely attentive. The only downside to us was the cost of food/beverages and that free tea/coffee making facilities seem to be a thing of the past - though this is probably in hotels generally in Europe these days?! Hubby often drinks at least 2 cups of coffee before breakfast so this was something lacking for him. We found some great little restaurants nearby that provided a great breakfast (continental) for 9 Euros as against 20 at the hotel.

Our travel agent bungled our flights and relocated us to another 4 1/2 star hotel closer to the Eiffel Tower which had rave reviews but was left very 'wanting' compared to La Belle Juliette.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
La Belle Juliette. The discreet luxury of a four-star hotel and the charm of an address that visitors and Parisians will give to their most demanding, cultured friends. In the pure Parisian tradition of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, the hotel is guided by a modern vision of romanticism and urban conviviality. Exceptional service with particular attention to hospitality, guests' well-being, calm and tranquility... All in the heart of bustling Saint Germain. Corinne and Pascal Moncelli, the owners of the hotel, have decided to breathe new life into an establishment that had been left to abandon on the rue du Cherche-Midi by telling the story - or rather stories - of a famous historical personality. This star of her time lived in the 19th century, frequented all the intellectuals and politicians of the era, was blessed with exceptional beauty, had an extraordinary love life and - above all - excelled in the art of receiving. The popular literary salon that she organised from the tender age of 15 attracted the greatest minds of the time and continued until her death, age 72! It is Juliette Recamier - famously known as La Belle Juliette - who gives her name to this new hotel. ... more   less
