“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

A stunning place to visit. There is some unpredictability in the times it is open for visiting, but worth taking the time to see or seeing a show.

“Did not go in, Just Sat on Steps”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My last day in Paris I went to the Opera House. My sister had told me to go see it because it's beautiful. I'm glad i did! It IS gorgeous! The area is also very beautiful and nice. Theres a lot of stores (a Galleria mall is not too far behind it) and Restaurants/Cafe's. I bought my lunch and sat at the steps of the Opera house watching a man play his guitar and sing British and American music. You also have a view of the city streets, cars going by, and all of the buildings.

“Sign me up for a season ticket!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

The Palais Garnier is a beautiful building with a rich history. It is definitely worth it to do a guided tour of this amazing part of Paris. The tours weren't very well organized, but once we actually got started it was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting facts regarding the architecture and history. With his knowledge and stories it was very easy to imagine visiting the opera as a 19th century socialite. I'll make sure to book tickets to see a performance next time I'm in Paris.

“A day at the Opera”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We took the subway here and it was worth the visit. Elegant atmosphere which puts you back to a bygone era The opera itself is lavish as old world theaters were. there are also dozens of costumes from various operas performed over the past century.

“phantom of the Opera's home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Incredibly opulent, really cool to see where the movie phantom of the opera was filmed. Even better to experience a full blown opera. We had front red velvet 1st balcony seats."You have the best seats " a lady told us as we went into the door from the round corridor after climbing the spiral marble steps to the first platform. Gorgeous statues with candelabra's in every corner exactly as pictured in the film. Gold gilded ornate finishings every where you looked. Interesting Chagall painted ceiling. One wouldn't expect that. Truly worth the experience. tickets were 180 euro.
Incredible show "Carpaccio".
Also very fun was approaching the Palace steps, there was a crowd sitting and standing all over the steps listening as a man played on a piano placed right on the sidewalk in front of the Palace. Only in Paris lol
