We came to visit Dôme des Invalides, to see the tomb of Napoleon initially but when buying the tickets, the Musee de l'Armee is included, so we visited first Napoleon's tomb to see the very imposing tomb made of red quartz and green granite. It is a breathtaking sight to behold.
We walked to the courtyard towards the army museum, the first thing we saw where cannons with intricate designs and accordingly goes back about 200 years.
Our first stop was the Ancient Armour and Arms, we have not seen so much armours with elaborate designs including the head gears, we could have stayed there just admiring them and you will see also firearms and we even saw Japanese samurai's armour, Turkish Ottoman period, among others.
We went to the world wars upstairs and saw the the beginning of the reorganizing of the army in 1871 all the way to the first war to the second war up to the fall of Berlin Wall.
The sad part of the visit is we could not stay longer to absorb all the glory and tribulations of this army of a great nation.
