Its difficult to rate an institution like the George V. it creates an expectation of itself. the rating above is againt expectations, not against the 4 star hotel next door
Anyway, location is excellent, about as good a place to base yourself as you can get in Paris. Assume all the basics are as you would expect: best in class service, stunning lobby, world class 3 michelin star restaurant, hollywood A listers, oligarchs and hardmen: all present.
It fell short for me in a few areas
Room was ok. I have stayed in quite a few 4 seasons and this may have been the poorest. Defintiely no comparison the 4 seasons in Asia. Our view was of a "mews" area that the staff seemed to live in. nothing bad there but dotn need to see the staff when I look out the window. Room itself was prefunctionary, at least compared to expectations and the price
SPA was ok very small and dark pool, very elegant but more a big bath than anything.
breakfast again ok. very nice pastries, ok coffee. was included in my rate so maybe I expect too much
Ultimately for a place like this you have to ask: is is so expensive because its so good and people want to stay there? or do people want to stay there because its so expensive?
here, unfortunately, the latter
dont stay in a standard room
