“Nice size, great permenent collection and exhibit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

We enjoyed seeing artwork displayed in the museum in the way that the owners of the household would have appreciated it themselves - makes it much easier to take in each piece of art than in a setting such as the Louvre. Entry is slightly above average in cost but comes with an audioguide, so we felt it was reasonable overall. The size of this collection is also quite nice - you feel as though you have time to take in each piece without being rushed, and the Jacquemart's art selections are so nice that it doesn't seem as though you're missing out by not going to a larger museum. Good selection of early renaissance through maybe ~1750s, lots of emphasis on Venetian art but also some Flemish and English portraits, Egyptian art, a couple Botticelli's. The architecture and interior design are beautiful. Very nice.

“Nice, compact collection of art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

I liked how the collection was inside a palace/home. I liked the free audio tour available. I liked the cafe and had a delicious lunch.

“Do not miss the Canaletto/Guardi exhibition.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

Quite apart from the the sensational house and permanent exhibits, this exhibition of paintings (many from the Royal Collection) is outstanding. You see the same views of Venice painted by different artists to compare their technique. The Canaletto pen and Ink drawings are a revelation

“Fabulous museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

The Jacquemart-Andre is a must-see museum. It's the Andre's personal home, which was filled with personally purchased artifacts, furniture, artwork, etc. from their travels all over Europe - especially Italy. Be sure to eat in their restaurant - one of the best meals we had in Paris!

“a lovely half day”

Be sure to enjoy the new exhibit there right now. The audio guide is very helpful. The permanent collection is also very nice. The cafe is one of the best of any museum.
