“Good, after a worrying start”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We booked and paid for this hotel three months before so were rather shocked on arrival to be told that the reservation had been cancelled! The receptionist helpfully took charge of the situation and booked us into their partner hotel (a more luxurious and expensive place) for the first night of our stay and paid for the taxi to take us there. They also gave us a room upgrade and free breakfast for our stay.

The hotel is fresh and modern on the ground floor but the breakfast room is downstairs with no natural light so is not so nice. The room although upgraded was still small but this is the norm for Paris. The room was well equipped but there was nowhere to hand anything longer than a t shirt and the toilet was in a cupboard! The street is well placed for restaurants, metro station and the tourist sights and the front office staff are unfailingly polite and helpful

Because of the mix up at this hotel, we were given complimentary breakfast so it seems churlish to complain but this really is not worth the money. The room is dull, the breakfast self service, not of a particularly good quality and the staff more interested in chatting to colleagues than serving. There are lots of brasseries locally so my recommendation is to grab something on your way out instead

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 5 nights over Easter and found the hotel to be excellent on our visit to Paris. Though small it has been renovated to a high standard and is easy to get to via the metro (Ecole Millitare station). The rooms are fitted to a high standard and free wi-fi is available. Staff are very helpful and as its a small hotel reception is never busy which aids in checking in and out. All in all a very enjoyable place to stay and we shall be back when we return to Paris.

The Tourville is our "regular" when we visit Paris, in part because of its location and in part because of the quality it offers. The 7th arrondissement is perhaps our favourite in the city (it's the district that includes the Eiffel Tower and the Rodin Museum), and the Tourville is located near a great people-watching corner, lined with several popular cafés that offer patio seating. We've probably stayed at this hotel at least eight times, and have only had one mix-up, when they didn't have a record of our reservation. But they whisked us around the corner to another (pricier) hotel, and we got the (pricier) room for what we would have paid at the Tourville. So, we were happy.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for my birthday. The best part about this Hotel for us was its location. Its literally no more than a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel tower and 15 to the Seine where all the river cruises depart. There are also many restaurants within walking distance along with a few supermarket type stores.
The hotel itself was very clean with people constantly cleaning it. The room we had although small was ample for two people. The bathroom was a decent size also, although the shower water didn't drain very well. The TV had a few english speaking channels as well which was good as we needed something to watch whilst relaxing after walking around paris all day.
The staff at the Hotel were mostly very friendly. They tried very hard to speak english and deal with our requests. There was only one issue and this was that we asked them to reserve us a table at a restaurant and they told us that it was closed that night. We then reserved a table ourselves online (with some difficulty) as we knew it was open.
The hotel also provides free wi fi, however it can be pretty hit and miss.

Overall a great stay with friendly staff, a clean hotel and a GREAT location.

Dear Ashley,

It's nice to read such a nice review and I would like to thank you again for chosing the hotel le Tourville, and for taking the time to leave your comments on TripAdvisor.
It is important for us to have our customers feedback as it helps us improve our services.

I am glad you have been able to get a table at the restaurant you asked us about, even if I cannot understand why we thought it was closed. But at least you had a nice time and that's all that matters!

Sorry for the water not draining well, we have been having this problem for a little while now but it is getting fixed so I am hoping that next time you will visit us again, everything will be running right!

Thanks again for your comments and we are hoping to welcome you back.

Sincerly yours,

I stayed five days at Le Tourville and the only complaint is that the rooms are really small but this is probably what you can expect in Paris. The hotel is located just next to the Eiffel Tower and Ecole Militaire metro station and it is easy to go whereever you want. Two of my favourite restaurants are in the area - Cafe Constant and Mariette - so I will stay there again just for that. The staff were really friendly and helpful suggesting good art exhibitions that were on during that week. No need to pay 16 euros for breakfast at the hotel since there are plenty of cafes next door offering breakfast for half that price.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

My husband and I stayed in December 2012 for 2 nights. We booked a superior room, and upon our arrival we got placed in a very tiny room. (Which is normal for Paris) but we were barely inside so we didn't bring it up, the night day my Husband asked her if we got the correct room (because of the size) and she tried to tell my husband that the due to some renovations, the smallest room got labeled the superior but we paid an extra almost 100 dollars to get superior (so why would we if we could pay less and get the same room) after a 10 minute talk, she gave us the correct room and free breakfast for 2.

Dear Niki and Keir,

First of all, thank you very much for choosing our establishment and for sharing your impressions following your stay at the hotel le Tourville.

Let me apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the type of room you had booked.

Some of our rooms are indeed quite tiny but we usually try to upgrade our customers whenever it is possible. In your case, I guess there was a little confusion and I am glad you have been able to stay in a Superior Executive room as requested.

We do hope to welcome you again if you ever visit Paris one more time.

Thank you again for your interest.

We have stayed at Le Tourville for 6 nights and we have found great services from the Front Desk!!! They are Ms. Melanie, Ms. Isabelle, Mr. Axel and Mr. Amin. They have helped us to make reservations for Michelin restorans and also make flight confirmations. The hotel is clean, cozzey and spacious. The location was good walking distance to Eiffel Tower and great access to subway/underground. The place is safe and there are a lot of small good restorans nearby. We hope we have a chance to visit Paris again and Le Tourville will still be our 1st choice. Cheers~~
