“Coolest place to stay in Paris”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

decor is unbeatable, crowd chic and just a really nice easy place to stay if you want great paris people watching, very cool hotel and lovely food - courtyard on a nice day is one of the best places to hideout in Paris.

Surely a great address, but overpriced for the room size and service.
Staff not especially friendly or welcoming at the courtyard Restaurant.

This hotel surely caters for a specific clientele, jet setters in the fashion business who fit well in the dark boudoir decor.

If you like people watching, celebrity spotting and dressing up then this place would be ideal.

Room Tip: Courtyard facing room is best of course but beware it is noisy with the courtyard restaurant below

A very interesting Hotel, ideally located and 'tres chic', set in the heart of Paris and surrounded by some strong competition!
The rooms were very large and beautifully furnished, super beds, but at E800 per night, very fully priced.
On the negative if there is such a thing, the toilet in the room is separate from the Bathroom, so lots of walking back and forth, and the bathroom itself had a complete lack of accessories, which both for Paris and a hotel at that price is a little bewildering!
The breakfast in the room was super and well presented. However with the lights dimmed everywhere in the hotel, on balance after a while the 'ambiance' gets a little disturbing as you struggle to read everything and anything!
To me a a very fully priced overstated but under achieving hotel. However would I stay there again, most definitely, but with lower expectations

Room Tip: Lower your expectations and be positively surprised

After a week in the country, my mother and I only had one night to stay in Paris and chose Costes because of their reputation for being over the top. We wanted to splurge since we had such little time but it was worth it. The hotel is near great shopping and if we had had time, we would have done some sightseeing.

The room was a nice size and very comfortable. No complaints except that our phone was not plugged in so we missed our wake up call and almost missed our flight!

We brought a bottle of wine and some magazines to the pool and had the most relaxing time. The pool was stunning and was the perfect reprieve after shopping and before dinner.

Dinner was average but they were able to seat us (thanks to the concierge's help) even though we hadn't made reservations in advance. The bar, however, is not to be missed! So much fun, amazing DJ, strong drinks, energetic bar tenders.

I would probably not stay here again because it was so expensive, but for a jet setting experience, it was perfect.

This was my first stay at the Costes - it is most often fully booked - this time I booked my stay five months in advance. And I was not disappointed... The room was small - but clean and super cozy with a comfy bed. The hotel is located in a great area with loads of fun shops. One of the great things is the restaurant... You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there without getting bored. It's like a scene in a Fellini or Almodovar movie.
PS. The pool area in the basement is like a turkish Hamam "De Luxe".

O yeah! Food was great, waiter spoke English fluently ( in Paris!), the hostess was...OK, I was there with my wife... . Wine list not too big but good enough. Very good music, elegant people around. I heard before it's a płace for celebs - and saw John Malkovich just having dinner - so I can confirm.
