“Treated us like old friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2009

I stayed here with my parents. My parents have been coming here annually for years. There are reasons they keep coming back: the service is great, the location is great and the rooms are great. They treat us like old friends. They immediately knew our names, what room we were in and where we had dinner reservations. There were bottles of champagne delivered to our rooms on arrival; fresh fruit was in the room. Every night the the bed is turned down, slippers are put out etc. The buffet breakfast was great, with a large assortment of fruits, cereals, breads, meats and cheeses. There are also hot breakfasts available. My mom had a pre-existing injury that flared up. The hotel had a doctor at their room within an hour giving excellent care. There is an adequate amount of staff to handle guests needs.... Some hotels in this recession era are understaffed... This hotel is not one of them. The only fault I found here was a guest was smoking a cigar at the front desk where it is not permitted, but the hotel staff did nothing to enforce the no smoking rules. There is a fitness center on the top floor, which is better than most in hotels. There is also free internet. We had dinner here one night, and I can recommend it highly.

My Girlfriend and I stayed two nights at the Hotel over a weekend.

Good Points: Staff. Front desk, Concierge and Housekeeping all very friendly, professional, personable and eager to please, with the exception of the Restaurant Manager / Maitre D. who was rude, full of self importance, and gave an heir of the worst Francofile arrogance.

Bad Points: Room (52) was generally, worn, tatty, in need of a deep clean and general refurbishment.
As a resident in the hotel we were unable to get a table in the restaurant for dinner!
Bed: A "zip" together affair which meant i spent the night fighting my way out of the cavernous void.
Room Heating: Room was cold. Despite turning the thermostat up to 30 degrees this setting made little difference.
Bathroom: The nice marble bathroom with twin vanity sinks was let down by very poor water pressure on the sinks, both hot and cold was a mere dribble. The shower was a "Heath Robinson" device which took approx. 10 minutes to achieve appropriate setting and temperature, and then without warning both scalded and froze me within 30 seconds of showering.
Bath: Unless you were a hobbit or midget it was not possible to use this facility.
Tea and coffee facilities were not available in the room.
This hotel is definitely not worth the money.

This hotel, located just steps away from the Champs and Arc de Triomphe was unbelievable perfect. The hotel itself is small and charming, with an quiet elegance. The rooms were beautifully furnished with antiques, and were generous in size. The English speaking staff was friendly, outgoing, and eager to assist. We had many special requests during our visit, from special tours, to assistance with private cars, flowers to be ordered, etc. The staff was not only helpful but generous with their time in assisting our group.

I recommend this hotel! 5 star all the way.

First time staying at Champ Elysses area. Perfect hotel. Staff excelent. Breakfast to dream about. Must try the Table au Lancaster. Better than the Plaza restaurant.

Having researched more than two hundred Parisian hotels for the Eiffel Tower views, I had narrowed down my search to some 8-10 hotels. For our recent short European trip, picked this hotel for our first night in Paris. Having just arrived by train from Brussells, we were very impressed with our choice indeed!

Being a Leading Hotels member, I have paid 560 euros for a Luxury/Prestige room, but was promised a special upgrade to their Honeymoon suite, number 80. Even if it was only for a one night stay, the Hotel made sure our stay was a special one - also given complimentary champagne upon check in - really special touches!

This astonishingly large 60 sq meters roof top suite (on the highest 8th floor) is all draped in dark red silk cloth, had mansard caved-in windows, and felt very luxurious and romantic! Whats more, one huge terrace offers unblocked dreamy views of the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur, while the other locked balcony offers views of surrounding buildings.

The bedroom itself was not overly large but its sitting room was huge! Bathroom was big, bright and roomy too. Since, there is only this special suite and a fitness room on the 8th floor, we felt really special and isolated - important for jet lagged travellers like us! Therefore, it was blissfully quite for a good nights sleep, too.

The included Hot chocolate drinks in its peaceful and beautiful courtyard was really something to remember ... And the free breakfasts the next day was of very good quality, as well! Pastries, breads and hand made jams were of the highest standard, and orange juice was of the freshly squeezed type. Coffee, very strong and fragrant, too. We were also being offered eggs cooked to order, but we declined, wanting to leave stomach space for lunch.

The hotel's location, being only a few short blocks off Champs Elysees, is really superb for both shopping and dinning. Walk in the opposite direction, and you are along Rue du Faubourg St Honore, yet another important shopping street in Paris.

There were more than 45 TV channels being offered here, but with about 4 in English only. Antique furnitures were seen everywhere in the suite, felt rather regal and special! The boutique hotel itself, felt more like someone else's townhouse than a hotel, so you would feel like returning to your 'Parisian home' at the end of the day. All the staff whom we contacted were friendly, helpful and courteous.

Our small glitches while staying here were -
1. the Queen sized bed in the suite was rather small. With such larges spaces, I thought the hotel should allocate a King sized bed instead - for more comfort.
2. the minibar was sealed, therefore, one would hesitate to break the seal to store one's food items.
3. the bath tub is a tad small and short.
4. there was slight wear and tear in the suite, but this did not hinder our stay a little. Heard that the suites would undergo a makeover soon ...
5. that the foods offered in its famous restaurant was below our expectations, with both lamb and duck cooked medium rare. Perhaps it was culture shock, but we would only come across medium rare beef in all our years of European travels.

Overall, a very unforgettable stay in a classy Parisian boutique hotel.

Great hotel in many respects apart from one key one - reviewers who've complained about noise are, sadly, quite right. I was awoken at 3am by revellers in the room above mine, and the sound transmission was strong enough for me to understand parts of their conversation. As for impact, it felt as if horses were pacing around on the ceiling above. And, I should mention, I was already wearing my ear plugs so I had taken every reasonable precaution! The noise eventually died down but I lost an hour's sleep and felt pretty grumpy the next day. So, despite the Lancaster's many positives, I won't be returning - why pay luxury hotel prices for the acoustics of a crowded youth hostel?

We enjoyed 2 nights at The Hotel Lancaster as part of a mini honeymoon in Paris, and we weren't dissapointed at all. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to us, and remembered who we were which was a nice touch.

We were in a suite, room 36 which was lovely - very bright and spacious. We had booked an alternate suite but rekocated to this one (the only problem with the hotel!). The bathrooms (yes, we had 2!!) were lovely, recently refurbished and filled with great toileteries. The bedroom was slightly older, and could probably do with a tidy up, but this wasnt too noticeable.

The bose sound dock was great, and the hotel very peaceful for a break. Breakfast (available as a buffet or in room) was delicious - very French!

All in all, a nice calm, unpretentious escaoe from the touristy traps of Paris.
