This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The service is fantastic, it's a physically beautiful building and our room was stunning. Staying here is truly a luxury everyone should experience. Hard to find anything wrong with the Hotel Ritz other than the bill when checking out. :)

Beautiful and magical just as I had hoped. Slightly dated in decor but we were made aware of this before we went due to the fact that they are now undergoing massive refurbishment which in a way made it so much more special!! Just all in all a wonderful stay and we are looking forward to seeing the new decor in the future!!

Went in June 2012, just before the refurbishment. Lovely hotel which is expected with this luxurious chain, would recommend to anyone, will be going back when refurbishment is complete. Hotel did look dated however I was made fully aware the hotel would be closing for refurbs and had no problem.

With the Ritz now closed for two years for major renovations, will we be losing forever one of the last of the legendary grand hotels as we know it? They have let their entire staff go and are embarking on a quest to "modernize" and "upgrade" this "dated" hotel. Last time I was there, it looked fine to me. The accommodations were luxurious and the staff was polished. The Ritz has its own unique style and, frankly, I don't stay there for the sterile look of a Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental Hotel. But that seems to be the way all the grand old hotels are going. Frankly, these days, you don't know whether you are in Hong Kong, New York, or London once you are in your room. Does every hotel room have to have wi-fi, a ghastly flat screen television, and a monotone color scheme? What passes for "luxury" these days does not impress me and there will be a fond remembrance of things past as the Ritz gets its "makeover." By the way, the Crillon is now closed for two years as it goes under the knife also...
